Frustation

I probably missed an update or something, but all of a sudden my listings of NEW items require the brand, UPC code and MPN code.  Used items can apparently be relisted without such requirements.

So on Dec. 23 I was trying to take advantage of the listing special and listings that I have relisted many many times (partly because they sell and I have multiples), would not relist.  I ended up changing all those listings from new to used, relisting them, and then going in one by one once they were relisted and changing them back to new and putting the UPC in as Does Not Apply.  So made the deadline with those.

But many others were too complicated to change to used and then back, so I'm having to go into my turbolister file, click on item specifics, then ask for suggestions (since the two requirements, brand and MPN, do not show up in item specifics without clicking on asking for suggestions (such a programming error).  Required fields should automatically come up in TL so we can know we have to fill them in.

I also have a bunch of relists to do that I will go in on my account and redo them before I can relist. One of them was particularly troubling. It was a good until cancelled listing, but without the additional UPC information, it would not relist. So I have lost all of my actual records of sales and probably my high placement in search. This one listing is going to take me at least a couple hours to edit, because all of the variations went back to the original amount. But I've sold a bunch of them, and I was counting on the listing to keep track of that.  I will have to physically inventory them and then redo the variation chart.  Thank goodness this type of thing has happened to me before (I voluntarily ended a GTC listing once before I had a store and then relisted it upon returning. The listing went back to the original numbers and I had to end it again after the first purchase was for something that had sold, but the ebay listing did not automatically update, as I had assumed it would. Luckily, an understanding buyer did not make this into a big issue but agreed to cancel).

This is taking up SO much time that could be spent on revising listings, new listings or finding new products.

I estimate at least 3 hours of work just to get what would have taken me five minutes about 2 weeks ago.

Anyone else experiencing this problem?

Re: Frustation

You have missed quite a few updates.

UPC codes have been required for a while here.

@sandychristmas2012

Try to do a bulk update, to NA

Most of us did this two or more years ago when it first came out.

Re: Frustation

But I don't think that UPC codes have been required in all categories. I knew they were required in clothing, so I always did those item specifics. But they were not required in crafts, where I sell most of my items, until last week. Perhaps this was just a glitchy oversight, but I have been listing and relisting like crazy before Christmas and it wasn't until Dec. 23 that I had listing that would not relist without making the changes. And some require UPC AND brand AND MPN. Such a waste of my time, but I'm almost done with one chunk of it so I'm just powering through
