Hi,
I have an eBay listing with multiple quantities of the same product. Currently my business policy charges £1.99 postage + an additional £1.59 for an additional quantity
how can I offer free shipping and postage for only the first quantity (so if they only buy one) and +£1.59 for any additional of the same items they add to cart?
I have tried setting the shipping price to £0 and the additional to £1.59 but it tells me the additional cost cannot be higher than the original shipping price.
Thanks

I don't think it will let you charge $0/free shipping for the first item and 1.59 for each additional.
But wouldn't you want to encourage buying more than one?
What you are wanting to do would DISCOURAGE buying more than one.
Now that I think about it, as a customer, if I wanted 3 of your items, I would buy one, then one, then one in 3 separate transactions. Then I would get free shipping for all 3.

Agree with inhawaii why would you want to? If you are going to cover the shipping cost on one for free it would actually behoove you to offer/cover the free shipping if the buyer is ordering more than 1. You are in the UK so not real familiar with your postal service and cost but in the US depending on the size and weight of the shipment it can cost the same to send 2,3,4.... of an item as it cost to ship 1.
Assuming you have baked the shipping cost into the price of the item you come out with a greater return, even with free shipping on multiple items, than you would if the buyer only purchased 1.
