For a Laugh of the Day

Just sold something for $150.00 on eBay.

Here's the funny part: Liberis keeps offering $1000. day after day financing with eBay Seller Capital.

Never used it.

It dropped to $891.00...LOL What did I do wrong?...LOL

Guess my rating just dropped. What an odd number. thumbnail.jpeg

Inflation dollars or the threat of tariffs. YMMV

Your offer is you may be qualify for $891

My offer is I am pre-qualified for up to $800.

I wonder why I am offered less?

Mine was $4k since they first started showing me the ad, but just a few days ago I noticed it was slightly lower. I figured it was because my credit rating dropped recently.  Who knows.

Yours is a weird # as well. Why not just drop it $250 or $500?

It's like the offers of a statement credit to sign up for the ebay cc.

Sometimes it's $50, sometimes $60, sometimes $70.

Sometimes it is $30 like this one from October.

It's also weird that each notice has a different message.

I wonder why @stephenmorgan is the only one who IS pre-qualified. The rest "may be pre-qualified."

@stephenmorgan 's says that he IS pre-qualified for up to $800.

@12345jamesstamps 's says that he may be pre-qualified for $891

@gurlcat 's says that she may be pre-qualified for $3,798.

And my own says I may be pre-qualified for $2,009.

I suspect that there is at least a soft credit check done to determine who receives the offers and maybe depending on the results your are pre-approved or you are offered to apply.  I have in the past received offers up to $15,000.  Not something I was interested in so I do not recall if they were pre-approved offers or just a solicitation to apply for credit.

It is tempting

I thought it was tempting too, until I saw a post made by someone who had accepted it and regretted it.  I can't remember the details like what percent of your future sales get auto-snatched to repay the loan, but that percent (and also the interest, which I also can't remember) is based on gross sale amounts, not just what you actually earn but also your shipping labels and fees that you pay to eBay.

Like I say I can't remember the details well enough to give numbers but my overall reaction was DEAL BREAKER, like it is bound to put you in a situation of worse struggle than you're already in.  The only exception might be if you're aware of some incredible sourcing opportunity of items that you are absolutely certain would net huge profits on eBay, and you have no other way to finance the purchase of the items.

Every time I have ever applied for a loan, the lender has done a math calculation based on the information available and arrives at a number I qualify for.  And as the information changes, the number changes.

It sounds like Liberis has done a math calculation based on the information available and arrived at a number you qualify for.  And as the information changed, the number changed.

Right but from our multiple experiences, it seems they recently did a MASS recalculation.  It probably still had "individual maths" but it does appear to have occurred roughly simultaneously for lots of us, maybe all of us.

Now what's interesting is that so far nobody has reported an INCREASE in eligibility amount.  So if they are all indeed decreases, that would indicate some sort of change on Liberis' end.
