I was looking at a competitor's listing and came across a flower (image) in the title.
I'm not sure what it's called or what the technical term is for that.
Other than having one less alpha/numeric character, are there any pros or cons?

It used to be against policy to put emojis in the title. Not sure if it's still in there or not, I can try to find it, but if it is, it's not enforced. People do it all the time to try and draw attention to their products.
Over-use has an undesired effect.

It's so tiny not even AL probably can't see it.
Not to change the subject...but so much $$$ for a coffee cup?

People who drink starbucks can afford it. 😉
Interesting story on those mugs.
Stocked up on them about 2 years ago.
Sold like crazy the first year.
Then didn't sell any for about a year.
Now they are starting to sell again, about one a day.

$28 for a coffee mug? Only in Trumps America.
Glad things have picked up for you.

Doesn't eBay have a help page that explains how to do it?

I remember seeing that policy long ago, but I could not find it last time I looked for it.
The policy may not be enforced by eBay, but I have also read that including emojis in titles can hurt Google search rank.
That might be a good reason to avoid using emojis, along with the fact that each emoji in the title increases the overall scam likelihood rating of the listing by 299%.

Since it can't be Searched it's a waste of one of the 82 Free keystrokes in the Title and Titles are the most valuable real estate in Search.

Emoji's can help with a google search, (visibility not as much as SEO) but the real question would be if they did, why did they use a flower instead of a coffee bean, coffee mug or something related to the item being sold?
@inhawaii Why not try adding an emoji (coffee bean) on one of your listings that has competition to see if it helps? (traffic/sales)

I have used them at times, Flames for Hot Wheels, Christmas Tree for an ornament, I don't really know if it draws more attention or not.

Disposable income is making a comeback. 🤗 YMMV
It does seem like consumer confidence is also getting stronger. Just last week many were worried about the price of eggs and gas. (rightfully so) Maybe we are finally starting to turn the corner and will see better days ahead of us.
