First time listing auction question

I started my first ebay auction last night. I ended up going with the 5 day auction. None of my listings have shown up in the search or under items for sale yet and it's almost been 24 hours. I'm now down to 4 days left with no Bids no views for my listing. Does it always take this long for a listing to show up? If so does that mean 5 day auctions are actually only 4 day auctions??

New listings could take 24 to 48 hours to show up.

All depends upon the item and catagory.  I have had listings take 24 hrs and I have had a sale in under 5 minutes.    Collectors typically search newly listed several times a day so they can view listings that way.  Most users won't see it until the last day when the listing works its way to the top of the first page.   Remember A Watched Pot Never Boils.

One or my listings just popped up but now I only have 3 days and 23 hours left for people to bid. Am I able to reset my time back to 5 days?
