First offense on late shipping=indefinite suspension! Possible appeal?

So, I have been a buyer/seller for 20 years on Ebay. I took a trip a few weeks ago and my wife shipped some items out (all $10 items). 2 buyers (3 transactions, one buyer bought 2 separate transactions) opened cases as they didn't get their items within a 5 day window (it was cross country shipping and arrived next day).

My wife marked them shipped, the buyers got the items, BUT the open cases were not closed. This was unknown to me until now.

Ebay closed the cases and refunded the buyers, even though they got the items. This is fine, I'm not disputing this. Our fault.

—What is not fine is that Ebay has now suspended me indefinitely from selling. I was shocked to get this notification today, especially as it was the first offense I've ever had. No probation period, just indefinite suspension. 3 items, one week.—

Is there any hope of appealing this? I'm still listed as "above average" on selling and have a 100% feedback on a 20 year old account. No negative feedback ever. Even the buyers who got their free, albeit late items didn't leave negative feedback.

Sorry to hear this..I expect you were suspended because you didnt respond to three open cases, not late shipping..Ebay sees you as an unresponsive seller, the kiss of death on Ebay. You can try contacting Ebay on their business page on Facebook, I wouldnt hold out much hope of being reinstated, but good luck.

The problem is not "late shipping" the problem is a failure to respond to the cases that were opened.

That's harsh. SOUNDS like a bot closed the case in the buyer's favor because there was no tracking in the case.

Marking them shipped doesn't protect you.

After the items were mailed out wife needed upload tracking within your handling time  as proof showing  you shipped within your handling time,  and also put the tracking in the case and called eBay and asked them to leave the case open as tracking shows it's about to be delivered.  If a case is opened and eBay sees you did your part and tracking shows it's near I believe  you would have been protected.

Can you appeal? Indefinitely means forever.

P. s.  What 5 day window are you referring to?

My stated shipping/handling time was 5 days. Basically, the 2 buyers (2 buyers, 3 transactions) in CA didn't get them in the window and opened complaints.

Thanks, I'll try their business page. I sent an email via the seller contact, but am assuming I'll get an automated reply.

Thanks. Tracking was not added as these were $10 items including the shipping. Big mistake obviously in retrospect.

On the Facebook for Business page - you need to do a private "message" to e-Bay CS via the message button (upper right on the landing page)

(7) eBay for Business | Facebook

In the message, give them your Selling ID, transaction numbers, a brief summary of what you told us and a way for e-Bay to contact you (via email/phone or both)

Good luck to you.  If you do not have the tracking uploaded to the transaction and a claim is opened, there is not much e-Bay will do for you.  You have to have the tracking uploaded to the order before a Buyer opens a claim.

Hopefully, you will get someone who will try and work with you, but not certain at this juncture what, if anything, can be done.

Sorry dude.  There were 3 nonresponses to INR claims, that's all it takes for most sellers.

You don't have the volume to absorb those hits.

For all ebay knows, you've died, given up on ebay or just don't care.  Excuses don't matter, and that's all it is at this point is excuses.

You might get someone at FB to feel pity, but I seriously doubt it.

Good luck.

Those with 20 years of buying/selling on eBay deserve a little more respect than this.

Why did you have your wife ship out items without tracking and not respond to the open INR cases?

Why?  A 20 year veteran seller should know the rules, actually should know the rules better than someone just starting.

Has nothing to do with respect.  Everything to do with the rules set in ebay.

So does that mean that I should get a break because in 60+ years I haven't killed anyone.  I get a free pass?
