Did you mean:

First class $2.29

I bought a bottle of lotion. The shipping rate was $2.29 First Class. According to Endicia even a 1-oz package costs more than that. Was the seller eating part of the shipping to be competitive?

That wasn't the concern or question of the OP.  Good advice, but not what the OP was asking about.

I apologize for causing you concern.  I was unaware that I gave you the impression that I was new to the boards or how they work.

That is really unnecessary and only something some will say when they feel the need to dismiss what someone else has said.  It has no basis in reality, but still some just feel the need to say it anyway.

"I bought a bottle of lotion. The shipping rate was $2.29 First Class."

It could be a really small bottle.  If I saw I listing like that I might ask the seller a question about the size.

Did they ship with tracking or just regular First Class Mail?

Chances are good they were paying for part of the shipping and I find it surprising how many sellers actually do this without even realizing it unless someone tells them.  Believe me it happens.

there is no tracking for First Class?

Re: First class $2.29

The fuzzy photo seems to say 6.5 oz.

I think this is maybe a "regular person" just selling a product they have around the house. I bestirred myself just now to check them and they are low FB, nothing left for a year as a seller. Maybe they are trying to sell some things on Ebay because they can't have a yard sale.

Sorry I should have said First Class Parcel.  I use it all the time.

Re: First class $2.29

Maybe they incorrectly entered the package type when they listed the item.  That would charge the incorrect postage for a tracked 1st class package.

Re: First class $2.29

Is there any mail class and weight that would result in a $2.29 postage rate? 🤔

I can get close to that at $2.40 First Class, no tracking.  But something like a tube of lotion really should ship first class parcel.

A bottle of lotion wouldn't qualify to be mailed as a letter or flat, no matter how small.  To be mailed as a letter, the piece has to be no more than 1/4 inch thick.  To be mailed as a flat, the piece must be no more than 3/4 inch thick, must be flexible, and literally flat, which the USPS defines as a variation in thickness of no more than 1/4 inch.

Combined with the lack of any $2.29 rate for a letter or flat regardless of weight, we must infer that the seller is absorbing part of the shipping cost.

Try not to judge people and the posts.  Everyone is free here to say what is on their minds without backlash or having someone act like their Mother. Too many do that here and in real life. Freedom is freedom of speech and thought. Have a good day.

You appear to have been with eBay a long time yet you ask so many questions seemingly just to build your stats up here. Silly question.  Have a good one.

Odd couple of posts if you read them one after the other.

And your post right after that was directed to the OP reads:

So you tell me not to judge people and their posts, then you turn right around and judge people and their posts.

It this one of those things my parents use to say, Do as I say not as I do?  Or do the same rules you set not apply to you?

Anyone confused here!!!!!!!!??????????!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have no idea what "stats up here" even means, let alone what mine might be. I am sorry if my questions irk you. They are honestly asked because if I am ignorant I want to learn. I will make a mental note to refrain from leaving a snide comment on any post you may make. Wait, was that snide?  😉
