First NARU in a long time...

So I haven't had it happen for a long time now that I've purchased something from someone who all of a sudden went NARU, but this has me a little bit concerned.

I made two purchases from someone who seemed nice enough and their profile looked fine and dandy and etc last night. They even gave me a shipping discount which I inquired about days prior.

However,  you can see what the message reads in the screenshot. I can't open a case yet, obviously since I just bought these yesterday. I realize it says not to worry, but, should I really not worry?

Just wondering what my best course of action at this point would be, and also wondering why or how this would happen if I should still expect to receive what I paid for, which is what that message seems to indicate.

Perhaps @Anonymous could help clear up the confusion here?

How is it possible when this item has not yet shipped but has been paid for that this message would be generated to me that I should not worry and that I will still receive my items? Smiley Frustrated

They have not shipped yet so it just shows "No estimate available".

Sorry, that was a trick question.

When a listing is removed, it no longer has an estimated delivery date --

the dates still shown and retained on the purchase history, your screenshot.

@jonathankirkland

That's why eBay immediately adds a Resolve a Problem link --

and allows you to click: More actions > I didn't receive it

well ahead of the previously advertized estimates --

to get a refund from eBay in 3 business days.

Or you can PayPal INR and get a refund in 11 days.

Then, if it arrives* --

unlikely since the NARU seller has fees and freeze issues now --

you can repay the seller.

*But if SNAD: How would you start a return request at eBay --

if you'd already gone ahead to PayPal to slam the door shut on eBay?

Also, please note that the messaging (which the blue will change) is standard:https://image.ibb.co/k8g3Yy/image.png

Yep I have gone ahead and opened a case for each item. It says I can ask ebay to "step in" on the 18th. Not sure why there's a 6 day gap, I guess that's just how it's programmed.

I generally don't "accept as solution" replies to my own topics, but to avoid confusion I am going to do that here.

I opened the case for "item not received through ebay", and within 15 minutes received the automated message: "We issued you a full refund of C $14.00 on May 12, 2018 to your PayPal account. The refund includes the purchase price plus original shipping."

So, if anyone reading this finds yourself in a similar situation, hopefully you should be able to immediately open up the item not received case, type the reason in that the user is no longer registered and you want a refund, and you should be refunded very quickly.

And just for anyone who may be wondering... yes... I did log in to Paypal and verify I received the refund. Smiley Wink

Thanks to everyone for the great support and advice!

This is beside the point, and, admittedly not helpful, but I think it's incongruous that eBay says the listing's been removed, the seller has been de-registered, but your transaction should move along swimmingly.

Really? Because I would think it probably wouldn't.

Has anyone reading this thread had a similar situation? Where the listing's been pulled, the seller NARUed but they received their purchase with no issues? I'd be interested to hear if that really happens.

And good luck on this one, @jonathankirkland.

Yes, the only time a listing was pulled and the seller NARU’d, I still got my purchase—chocolate from Europe!

What happens if you then get the item, 100 percent like you wanted.  Do you then resend the money to the seller?

That's the 4 business days Monday May 14 through Thursday May 17 next week.

But the eBay Money Back Guarantee states 3 business days:

http://pages.ebay.com/ebay-money-back-guarantee

1 Go to My eBay
If your item hasn’t arrived or isn’t as described, go to My eBay, find the item in your purchase history, and select return or item not received within 30 days of delivery.
2 Not resolved? Let us know.
If your issue’s not resolved in 3 business days, contact us.
3 We’ll get your money back fast.
You’ll hear from us in 48 hours.

Hi @Anonymous, can you escalate this discrepancy?

Please see the 4 business days programmed here:https://image.ibb.co/khayYy/image.jpg

Yep. I got unenrolled once because ebay had concerns that turned out to be unfounded. They pulled all my listings. When they get pulled, THE SELLERS CANT EVEN SEE THEM! Yeah. Its pretty difficult to fill open orders when the buyers shipping info is even gone.

See ebay creates a panic when buyers like the op see their naru message. “Oh no! I cant reach the seller, they must have been banned cause they ripped people off.....waaaah, EBAY, HELP!

you get an immediate refund, BUT the seller gets a defect when they are never given time to respond. A case is opened and shut in the same phone call in favor of the buyer, whos order isnt even late. The seller never has a fighting chance and can only appeal.

It is ridiculous that buyer addys are removed altogether. I had 30 orders to figure out. Between my emails from ebay and paypal activity log, i got every single order to delivery...except for the one Chicken Little...who thought i wanted to steal her $2.50 maybe?

other buyers were so great about it. Yes, some contacted me via email...and i thanked them.

All this to say that Stuff happens. Being suspended or whatever is a serious blow that takestime to recover from...especially when you have 150 watchers/sales possibilities vanish in a blink. Takes a while to rebuild. And relist...cause guess what? Sell Similar and Relist DONT RECOGNIZE THE LUSTING YOURE TRYING TO COPY...because it was pulled. Doh? Welcome to the circle of insanity.

That is why the OP should not have been so impatient and waited to see if the items showed up before making a claim. There is nothing I see bizarre about the message, and there is nothing the OP needed to worry about. This thing happens all the time and in most all cases the buyers still receive their items. Hopefully if the OP does receive their stuff they reimburse the seller.

Ty ty ty. It was so disheartening. It still is when i read this thread about all tge panic over nothing. If the seller went to the moon, the buyer still wouldnt need to worry. Yes, ive been on the buying side of this story too...and it ended with timely delivery.

The only thing a case will do is stick a seller with a defect...and thats best case scenario. You should see the havoc that is created in paypal...whoowee.

Years ago I purchased a paperback, DINERS, DRIVE-INS AND DIVES by Guy Fieri.  The listing was removed, but I do not recall if the seller was removed or not.  I did receive the book after about 2 weeks.

Just to clarify, yes if I receive my items I will indeed go back and re-send the money.

As to my impatience, well if the had been in the process of being SHIPPED, I would have waited for sure. But since that didn't happen and I was told upthread that it would most likely be impossible for a shipping label to be created at this point unless the seller went to do so through Paypal, I assumed that the sale was never going to happen.

So, I just went and opened the case, not knowing it would be immediately closed and that'd be the end of it.

Not much I can do about ebays software though, I just have to follow along with the way it's programmed and if I encounter any issues on my end (which this time I didn't obviously), contact them about it just like everybody else.

I would have waited until the estimated delivery date to do anything.
