Hello Sellers-- It is 2:00 A. M. and I can't sleep. I started looking at year to date sales reports, particularly the Financial Overview Report which is basically a summary. I cannot get the numbers to "add-up" or more precisely to subtract out. I am not sure what I am missing. I have Orders= $2,375.34- Refunds $62.65-Expenses $738,37 with Net Transfers - $ 1,608.46. Orders-Expenses does not equal Net Transfers. Orders-Refunds does not equal Net Transfers, and Orders -Refunds-Expenses does not equal Net Transfers. Orders-Net Transfers = $ 766.88. What am I missing ? Does it have to do with timing of orders paid versus expenses incurred ?

Hello 5AM Eastern here. All nighter lol
Right! So I was taking a look, did you sell any items overseas or internationally? There might have been currency conversion charges? (https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/fees-credits-invoices/selling-fees?id=4822#section9)

The taxes are not include in the numbers, could that be the difference?

Does it have to do with timing of orders paid versus expenses incurred ?
That seems possible, especially around the start date of the report.

You are seeing a report that is real-time and looking for numbers that are cumulative.
"...I started looking at year to date sales reports..."
If you had a "sale" 1 day before that time frame, it would not show up in column 1 "Orders", (because it occurred before the time frame you selected, example December 30)
but would be reflected in the Final column "Net Transfers" (because it occurred within the time frame you selected), thus throwing the calculation out of balance.
Also, you may even have pending payments, shipping labels in processing, etc...
I hope I made sense...
There are also other factors that may cause an imbalance, particularly in the "Net Transfers" number

There are many reasons why ebay numbers NEVER line up.....
1. the app and the desktop are never the same for some reason. (for no reason that i can think of)
2. some areas they post the money for sale date and other times for payment date- using 2 dates for the sale sale confuses things for sure.
3. many of their reporting systems lag
4. some of the reports do not include returns or cases
5. its ebay
Ever since ebay managed payment took over for paypal- we have never been able to rectify the numbers with ours or tax reporting- they just dont ever work!
The first year they actually sent a 1099 to the wrong social sec number on one of our accounts for $86,000. what an accounting nightmare. No way for ebay to fix they said. That was literally tax fraud lol and they could not correct it.....yet somehow any other other company can issue corrected 1099's. We ended up having to 1099 ourselves to move the income to the correct account to make it work....ridiculous

A quick follow-up example for you to help explain...from one of my accounts
Notice the "Net Transfers" are more than the "Orders" (I wish) due to the timing...
