Well, it's taken me a long time as I'm no spring chicken, and not quite as tech savvy as millenials are. Last night I started a Facebook page for my ebay store, and installed an app called "Auction Items", which displays my ebay store items directly on my store's Facebook page. A click on any listing takes you directly to the ebay listing. I invited all my FB friends to like my new page, and I've gotten many and a few shares.
This is something all ebay stores owners can and should do. As one seller, this probably doesn't bring much traffic to ebay, but collectively, we could make a big impact on bringing some traffic back to ebay. Sales are slow for most, and we should do everything we can to try to help ourselves. I'm also quite happy to see that today's new promo is going to run in conjunction with some pretty heavy advertising by ebay.
This was one small step for me, and if anyone has any other suggestions, it would be great to share with the rest of us.

So glad you brought this up. I have thought about it.
I have encouraged people to do this..
But, I really don't want to(maybe can't) share with my "friends" that im selling things that belonged to dear, sometimes shared relatives.
Some items are priced so low, I don't want people to know how dear $$ is to us.
Any thoughts on that?
Maybe a facebook page for your ebay "store"?
Then people would have to friend your store?

Pretty sure ebay doesnt allow this. They will probably cancel your account because they think you are trying to steer buyers into off ebay transactions.

I set up some Pinterest boards with ebay items. I sell china, so each pattern has it's own board. I don't know if it is helping, but people that find it must have an interest in the items. I don't think they follow me because of who I am.
Facebook seems like more of a friend/acquaintance site. I would be hesitant to use it to "sell" items. I don't host Tupperware or Pampered Chef parties, either. Most of my friends wouldn't buy what I sell.

I set up a FB page for my store but I don't use it. Quite frankly I'm sick of half my friends list trying to sell me their pyramid scheme junk. If I ever do anything with the page I'm not going to associate it with my personal page. At least not much.
The other concern is that you don't want a lot of people you know buying /bidding on your items. You both will get nailed for shill bidding in no time. Even if that wasn't the intent.

To be clear, this is NOT selling on FB, nothing can be bought unless it's on ebay, it is displaying links to my ebay listings. Adding ways to drive traffic to my ebay store. I'm still in the infancy stage with this. Next step is for my store page to join some special interest groups that may be interested in some specialty items I'm selling, ON EBAY.

I've asked the mods to remove this thread, and I'll keep my progress to myself.

I think it's worth a try. I understand that Facebook is only a link. If you think your friends might be interested, then go for it.

It's not about trying to sell to my friends, they don't want what I'm selling. It's about shares and likes and getting more eyes on my store items. The potential is huge with a little imagination.
