I just looked at my payout final value fees and noticed that I am charged for the the cost of entire sale including shipping and taxes <- none of which I receive so WHY am I charged?
"The total amount of the sale includes the item price, any handling charges, the shipping service the buyer selects, sales tax, and any other applicable fees."

Also, ebay started charging for "Promoted Listing Standard" fees on TOTAL amount too.

This has been a very popular topic. Please check out some of the other threads. The payment processing fees are based on the grand total.....item price + sales tax + shipping.....very much in standard by all payment processors. The final value fees are category centric. Please review the final value fee structure percentages based on the category for your item. Again, ebay's fees are within reason when compare to other platforms.
Hang in there!

All payment processors charge a fee based on the TOTAL amount. This is nothing new.

yep, that is correct. That is how it is figured for the last day or two or 3 or who knows when.

And you just now found out what the fees were???

"....none of which I receive so WHY am I charged?...."
correction, you do receive the 9.00 shipping, and use it to payout the shipping charge.....
The 'fee' on the sales tax amounts to about 0.35 cents.....much less than it would cost you to collect and remit the proper sales tax to your buyer's state.

Breaking news: eBay charges exactly how much they said they would.
More at 10.

You ask a question in your first sentence. And you answer your own question in your second sentence. That second sentence is a quote from eBay's own policies/procedures on this question.
Your question asks about fees on "the cost of entire sale." The answer speaks of fees on "the total amount of the sale." Two phrases with different words which mean the same thing.
eBay DOES include shipping and taxes in the Final Value, which is, as you quote, the total amount of the sale. That is eBay's policy. It is eBay's procedure. It is published. You quoted it, so you must have found it. Did you read it? Did you understand it? And, oh, by the way, it is legal.

Yes you are just like the fee schedule states. You may want to read the following.

Interesting that SO many people are asking. Curious why so many people, including me, are unaware of this?
I haven't sold much on ebay in the last couple years, just started up again.

People just jump into or back in to selling on eBay without reading anything about the fee schedule. Takes too much time to be informed.
Probably the majority, according to the exact same posts here, day in and day out.
I think the only thing that has changed in recent years was adding the sales tax in to the grand total before being charged the FVF.
There are still people complaining about shipping being included in the total and that has been included since around 2011.
