Final Value Fee cap on high dollar item?

I am selling my complete inventory & pursuing other interests. I have had listed in classifieds (low visibility) due to no final value fee & may switch to regular (fixed price with best offer) listing in Business & Industrial> Websites & Businesses for Sale> Other Businesses for sale. Is there a final value fee cap (max)? Premium store subscriber; can't seem to find an accurate answer & would help me price listing. Thank you!

Final Value Fee cap on high dollar item?

Thanks! The ebay link is confusing, "most" categories & "up to..$ calculated" etc.. I know there used to be a cap. Thank you again!

Would be the 'top box' if you are NOT in one of the three sub-categories shown below, then it would be the 2nd box down.

Doubting you are in the 'bottom box'...you would be like this:

12.35% for the first $2500 and 2.35% for everything OVER $2500

example: sell for $100,000; would pay about $2600

12.35% x $2500 ($308 fee) plus

2.35% of $97500 ($2291 fee)

(2nd box down) 2.5% of first $15,000 and .5% of everything over

example $100,000 sale would be about $700

First $15000 x 2.5% is ($275 fee) plus

$85000 x .5% ($425 fee)

Most Business & Industrial categories, except:

  • 12.35% on total amount of the sale up to $2,500 calculated per item
  • 2.35% on the portion of the sale over $2,500
  • Heavy Equipment, Parts & Attachments > Heavy Equipment
  • Printing & Graphic Arts > Commercial Printing Presses
  • Restaurant & Food Service > Food Trucks, Trailers & Carts
  • 2.5% on total amount of the sale up to $15,000 calculated per item
  • 0.5% on the portion of the sale over $15,000

eBay lowers the FVF rate above select thresholds in selected categories, but not in the one you mentioned.  AFAIK they  currently have no caps.

Final Value Fee cap on high dollar item?

Since ebay names/feedback etc CANNOT be sold or transferred, are you selling your inventory with a website? or just the inventory?

If just inventory, just try selling in 'lots' with 'reasonable' size/counts for shipping purposes etc.

Final Value Fee cap on high dollar item?

Thank you so much for explaining it in an easier to understand way. I would be in the first box I believe, which broken down as shown, fvf would only be about 2.6% on 100k+... that is very reasonable and am switching listing to regular fixed price from classifieds. Thank you again. In regard to your previous question: I am selling complete total inventory and didn't really want to break up or separate into lots. Its over 100 pallets!

Are you aware that 100 pallets would take 3 to 4 Semi Tractor/Trailers to ship at about (aprox 30 pallets each figuring 1500 miles) would cost about $7500 each ($5 mile-full truck), or $30000??

Might be a hard sell trying to get someone to pay that much for shipping;

Is the merchandise new or used?

Yes; I am aware of shipping cost. Items are new old stock (unused), mostly from 1990s-2010s... Specialized field (Defense Industry), with an acquisition cost of around 9 million when purchased by the government.

So in reality, about $50 worth since we know the Government buys Toilet Seats for $15000 each (j/k)
