Ebay would not take down negative feedback that was left 3 days before the deadline to resolve any issue, Since they have such disregard for hard working sellers & let customers leave slandering remarks that can effect our business, I will pursue a lawsuit against any & all customers who misuse the feedback system in this manner, So often I hear other sellers getting abused by customers this way, But we do have a defense that we can pursue outside of ebay.

Oh, yeah, that's a plan. I had to give up the old throw-myself-onto-the-hood-of-the-car-and-pretend-I-was-hit wheeze quite awhile ago. Then I gave up the old slipped-on-the-wet-floor thing when I actually did slip and nearly broke my tailbone. But I think I could just about manage that, if I picked a floor display of something soft -- you know, bath towels or plush toys or the like. Thanks!

Exactly! It's all about the emotional trauma these days. Could end up with one foot in mouth and toes in ears and get the med costs but the "Golf Course" is all within the trauma! So ya' have to like practice heavy on the controlled flop... It's not the injury, its the neurological impacts of seeing any plush toy causing major league anxiety... Brush up the bi-polar practicing and vomit on need not want be a really excellent accent!
Butt in all seriousnessness I cant imagine sitting in front of a judge trying to sue someone over a feedback comment. I mean, how does that video play out?
The only pictures that comes to my mind are that of a young judge daydreaming along the lines of, "I should have listened and just stayed a lawyer" to the older judge daydreaming with thoughts of, "Is it time to retire yet? It just can't come too soon!"

You don't know how apropos your reply is. On top of a mountain of ongoing problems, now I have freakin' Covid. I feel just like that ^ cat right now.

But ya know, there's a certain ironic freedom in that. And it's also kinda funny. I get that you get that.

I was thinking the same thing.
What is a "false" feedback worth?
Well... If we abstract the concept into Poker I'd have to say its worth at least five good ones, "A Royal Flush" (No Monarchy toiletry inferences applied, warranted or copyrighted).

That's it! I once saw someone tear the tag off a Beanie Baby! Yes! She just grasped that tag and tore it right off! Gasp! Shudder! (Forgive my posting the actual, gruesome details.) Ever since then, too-close proximity to any plush toy has triggered my anxiety, so to be buried alive in a whole bin full of them would be pretty much permanently debilitating.

I did address the buyers concerns & even offered a partial refund, In which I received no response, Their claim That I unilaterally tried to solve the problem is false & slandering to my character

You would have to prove damages and that you lost business, no? Seems like an unwinnable case, especially when there are tons of sellers making money hand over fist that have hundreds of negative feedback.

Better call Saul.

The same standard should apply to us!

Sorry but even if you took customer to "small claim court" you would lose the case (judge's consider feedback customer's opinion and doesn't have to factual). TV judge said "when you sell online you have to expect to get bad feedback and this is all part of running a business".
The important thing is that "your response" to their negative feedback and very professional and courteous (potential customer's will judge you by how you respond to negative feedback).

If you're going to get all legal, please note the difference (already mentioned) between slander and libel. Slander is spoken. Libel is written. It is not possible to slander you in an eBay feedback.

Bookmark Maxine's post. Upon ALL occasions you even slightly consider a legal remedy, access those words and your mind should change. From explaining the difference between libel and slander to the difficulty in assessing damages, she "hit the nail on the head."

J. Jonah Jameson taught me that! (In the Spider-Man movies.)

What would a certain Judy say - Uncross your arms - If it doesn't make sense, it's not true - Don't just make it up as you go along - Who cares what you feel - Who cares what you want - Your case is dismissed.
