Fees

I have not seen much discussion as to ebay screwing buyers and sellers by charging a fee (same as item 12.55%%) on shipping and sales tax.  It seems unnecessarily greedy and smacks of gouging.  I understand why ebay started doing it.  It only takes a few jerks by selling an item for $5.00 and then adding shipping cost of $100.00.  All ebay says it is part of the 'final value fee'.  If a seller can prove the actual cost, then ebay should not be charging a fee on a fee.  They also charge a fee on a fee (sales tax).  The buyers/sellers have no control over sales tax rates and/or shipping.   But to be charged and an additional 12.55%, seems excessive.   The reps keep repeating the same drivel as 'final value fee'.  They suggest I report/suggest solutions (which I have) and there is no response.   Whay say you all.   I am considering etsy - I heard there is sales fee is 5%.

Fees

There has been a ton of discussion on ebay charging FVF on shipping and on sales tax.   Bottom line, ebay is not going to change it so your business plan had better deal with it.

As to selling on some other site, isn't the grass always greener on the next pasture over?
