The sales tax was charged to your buyer because sales tax is levied by the state you are shipping TO, not the state you are shipping FROM. 

You pay a fee on it because eBay makes the rules and they say so.

Fees are charged on the entire buyer payment.

Fees are clearly shown to us before we sell.

There is nothing for the OP to contact eBay support about.

Fees are clearly shown. Seller apparently was unaware.
