We feel that that many satisfied buyers do not respond to giving feedback probably due to lack of interest. We like to recommend that automatic positive feedback be given to a seller that has successfully competed a sale. There have been too numerous transactions that we have no feedback from the buyers. Maybe after 30 days, the normal return period is a good time for each positive feedback. Thank you.

You know the saying “If you have nothing good to say, just say nothing”?
Many people choose not to leave feedback because a transaction wasn’t good, but it just wasn’t bad.
The idea of a seller automatically receiving positive feedback for such a transaction might motivate buyers to leave less than positive so the feedback would actually reflect their experience.

You do know that FB is optional/voluntary for either party, right?
And that any buyer or seller has 60 days to leave it?
You have 2082 FB. What could you accomplish with more?
Finally, if what you are suggesting is automatic positive FB after 30 days, no thank you.
Sometimes I've had a not so great experience with a seller, but it's not bad enough to ding his FB.
If, however, eBay decides he deserves an automatic positive, I'm outa here.

Some married wives do not want their husbands to know how much they buy.
And a lot of those in Middle East prefer not to have anyone know how much they spend on eBay.
And I do not want my buyers to know where I buy my stuff to resell here.

This is me..........I don't leave it, if not so good...... I would probably do it if I knew Ebay was going to automatically give a good feedback........

No way, when I do not leave feedback, it means the transaction was adequate.
I leave feedback when the transaction was superior service and description was spot on or better than expected.
I know how hard sellers work, just because I am not 100% satisfied, I choose not to leave a negative or neutral feedback.
Careful what you wish for, if you made me leave feedback with this generation of sellers, I'd leave a slew of neutral and negative feedback.
Little to no description and miles of policy and pity pot non-enforceable lectures: I am not an expert but, sold as is no returns (unenforceable with item not as described). Personally, I'd let sleeping dogs lie.

Be careful what you wish for.
"Leave feedback or we'll do it for you" means feedback is no longer truly optional.
If that happens, sellers are going to see a lot more negs and neutrals. Many buyers simply do not leave feedback at all when they're unhappy with a transaction. But those buyers are going to leave negs and neutrals if they're pushed like this.

And how, exactly, would automated generic positive feedback carry any weight or be of any benefit to the seller?

Beats me but I think its the obsession with numbers, like getting "likes" on social media.
After the first hundred or so, the rest really don't much matter, insofar as letting a potential buyer know that a seller understands how eBay works.

I'd rather have feedback dropped altogether.
EBay doesn't use FB to assess member accounts, regarding it as just an opinion.
Many buyers leave negative FB for a truly bad experience, because they don't understand how to use the Money Back Guarantee, which really is effective, and which is used by eBay as a metric.
Almost any problem raised in FB could have been handled and likely solved through an MBG claim.
It is useful to know how experienced the member is sometimes, so perhaps having the number of transactions each member has had would be useful.
But modify that number with the number of Claims or Disputes the member has also had.
So if a member has purchased 500 items and sold 500 items, they have a 1000 rating.
But if they had 10 Claims as a buyer, the rating would show as 950/1000.
And if they had 5 claims as a seller, the same rating would show as 945/1000.
And those numbers should be win or lose.
The buying Claims could all have been lost, and the number would still be 950/1000.
The selling Claims could all have been won and the number would still be 945/1000.

They (sort of) do.....

Sort of like a batting average, where you don't factor in walks and sacrifice flys.

Same here. I've had several purchases I didn't leave feedback for because they weren't great experiences. If I was going to be forced into leaving feedback, then I would leave a negative and be honest about my experience.

Mercari does that, leaves a bot feedback if the buyer doesn't. I'm not sure it's considered really meaningful because bots don't buy things because they have no pockets for wallets.
