Feedback

I have noticed that over the last year or so a number of my buyers have no history of giving feedback to sellers -some of these buyers have as many as 30 feedbacks. Is it recommended that I send a brief note to these buyer mentioning the need for feedbacks? Thanks.

@soh.maryl  Yes-I ignore it but I think buyers just see any feedback request as something to ignore when ebayers would really like to receive feedback.

Is anyone here old enough to remember when...

You could leave anyone feedback, you didn't even have to have a transaction with them.

You could ask your friends or relatives to leave you positive feedback.   LOL

I have to agree with everyone here. No feedback is nothing to worry about. When I don't get a feedback response after the item was delivered, I just figure that "no news is good news." Another thought is "be careful what you wish for, you might get it."

I always leave feedback for my buyers upfront when getting ready to ship the item, but I don't expect it in return. It's nice when they do, especially when the feedback is really positive, and they are thrilled with receiving their item.

Don't worry if you don't receive feedback. Just consider that your buyer is pleased.

eBay could have dealt with this situation years ago by applying a pre-formatted auto feedback into sellers' sales. If a buyer does not leave feedback within xx timeframe it can be inferred that there were no issues with the purchase. eBay should edge towards the seller when a buyer cannot thank you.  Instead, we live with selling records that do not include the diversity and scope of our selling experience.

It's poor management. Learn how to optimize both sides of a system, or do away with it.

Ebay already sends a reminder for feedback.  When we first started, yes, it was alittle frustrating not seeing the feedback go up like we thought it should, but honestly,  we have had alot of repeat customers that never leave feedback. People who don't leave feedback may just be busy with their daily lives and don't have the time or think it isn't really nessacary if they were satisfied. Sometimes people just forget and don't check thier emails as often or may just overlook the reminder,  but it's best just to strive to be a good seller, make accurate listings, ship in a timely manner and package well. Feedback will adventually add up. The customer took the chance to buy from you, paid,  no complaints and went on thier way. If you happen to try to request feedback directly from some buyers, they may end up giving you feedback you didn't really want, and there may not be anything you can do about it.

Here is something you could try in order to receive more:

I send out a personal Thank You note after each sale. In it I mention, "I will leave positive feedback following yours," and I won't leave it if buyer doesn't.

Early on I left fb right away, but when too many buyers didn't reciprocate, I changed horses and find I get more this way.

do auto, and some sellers are not going to be pleased with the results, as the "just let it pass" buyers that were at all less than pleased may let it be known if the seller is going to reap rewards for a less than positive transaction.

Let's just give buyers automatic positives as well while we are at it. NOT !!!!
