How do others handle feedback?

If you sell an item, do you give immediate feedback?  Or do you wait for the buyer to confirm that they are happy with the item?  Like a handshake.

I know it doesn't really matter as buyers can only receive "positive" feedback.  Just wondering.

Automatic positive feedback left for a buyer once they leave positive feedback.  I don't leave feedback manually or first.

It's up to the buyer to decide when the transaction has come to a satisfied conclusion.

Immediate feedback on sale, automated.  Like you said, it doesn't matter as buyers can only receive positive feedback.  So it doesn't matter when you give it, as it wouldn't matter anyway.

I leave feedback about once a week and I leave it when I'M happy which is after it's paid for and shipped (maybe same day or maybe about a week later).

Every once in a while I will hold back feedback if a buyer has been "odd" (I can't define odd although jerk might be appropriate) but that is quite rare.

To be perfectly clear, I don't believe there is a "correct" way to deal with feedback although my personal feeling is that waiting for a buyer to go first is kind of silly especially if you then complain that buyers don't give you feedback.

I leave feedback once I see the item has been delivered.  It helps me keep track of packages that may he delayed.

My feedback is automatically given when an item is paid for. If I receive feedback in return fine, if not, I’m ok with that too.

Hi, i leave feedback immediately after a buyer has paid, as a gesture of courtesy. I thank them for the purchase.

I don’t wait for a buyer to leave it first, or need to hedge my bets as some sellers do, out of fear of giving a possible scammer or problem buyer a positive feedback.

I provide feedback once shipped OR I wait until item delivered + 1 day. If the item has little chance of damage during transit (soft goods or paper), feedback is after shipping. That way, if the buyer is crappy about receiving damaged goods (out of my control), they do not receive a "reward" for bad behavior. I have only had to withhold feedback less than a handful of times. Should the buyer leave feedback first, I do have auto response to reciprocate.

I leave feedback when I get to it. Most often it's within a few days of purchase. Last week I caught up on 2 weeks' worth. Don't check to see if they left feedback for me. If they buy and pay, they get feedback.

Sellers, on the other hand, get it when I get to it, UNLESS they bugged me about it then none is given.

Feedback upon payment.  It's just a quick way to say "thank you," just as I would do behind the counter at a brick-and-mortar.

If there's trouble down the road with the transaction, I'll deal with it then.  I never anticipate problems.

@somethingneat

-As a Seller I leave FB for Buyers the day the item(s) ship, then it's done and I don't have to worry about it.  I basically thank them for the purchase or Repeat business

-As a Seller I don't ask for FB or put little notes in packages about it ... I let Buyer FB happen organically ... or not.  In all the years of Selling Buyer FB has been consistently between 50% - 60% ...

-As a Buyer I leave FB after opening and inspecting the item, often the same day as delivery.  If there is an issue I message the Seller (this is extremely rare by the way), work things out and then leave Positive FB.

-FB can be left on a transaction up to 60 days.  FB can be handled different ways ...

Every two weeks I give bulk feedback to every delivered item.

Once a buyer pays and I print the shipping label, I leave positive feedback. Why? Because the buyer completed his end of the bargain. To say to the buyer, "Once you get the item and leave me positive feedback, then I will leave you positive feedback". That is so wrong. If I happen to be the buyer and that happened to me, sorry, no feedback for you!
