Feedback that isn’t valid

I got a neutral feedback with this message: “Description never stated metal and plastic for this item; other than this one issue.”

This criticism seems invalid. It was a brand new item in a package with a clear plastic front and cardboard backing. I took photos from every conceivable angle. The contents were clearly visible. There was nothing misleading in the description.

I guess the buyer was hoping for the cheap plastic version as opposed to the pewter version.

The feedback did not say the listing was misleading. It complains specifically about missing details describing what the figure was made out of. And that is a  valid point.

This underlines the importance of using one’s Item Specifics and Description field to record pertinent facts about the item. Material, Year/Era, Brand, UPC, Size, Measurements, Color, Manufacturer’s Part #, etc. Any flaws in the packaging should also be mentioned, especially important to collectors of such items. It is not enough to say “See photos.”

There were 3 photos (2 of the front, one of the back) with no close-ups. No side views.

Should the buyer have asked for more info? Yes, perhaps. But providing pertinent information about the item is the seller’s job. It is just good business because it can help protect a seller from an unhappy buyer, returns,  SNAD, and bad feedback.

some buyers don't ask and than blame you for their lack of effort...if the info is NOT there that you need ASK...duh...its so simple isn't it yet when some buyers mess up its the seller they blame...of course

I took a look at the back of the package, and it clearly states, "This miniature is hand cast in pewter."

I'm guessing that the buyer's complaint was that the figure was made of metal AND plastic when they were expecting metal.

AFAIK, usually miniatures like that are solid pewter, not pewter and plastic.

I understand how you feel.  Most buyers looking for this type of item would have known the material the figure is made of.  But there is always those out there shopping for something for someone and they have no clue about the product.  So it is always best to error on the side of caution and state it in the listing.  Write your descriptions for those that are NOT familiar with the product.

Keep your chin up.  The neutral won't hurt you, your account or your stats.  You will be just fine.
