Feedback rant

2 untrue feedbacks left on my seller profile brought my rating from 100% all the way down to 87%. Being that I am 3rd party, my thing is I am not able to reply to it & share my side and the resolution as well; and I can ONLY leave a positive review for the buyer. eBay has been on here for years and been through many changes and I am so confused why they keep missing the mark for this one: Being able to leave honest reviews for the buyer because there are times the seller is not happy with their experience!

I've been cursed at, threatened and read false accusations from people behind their computer and/or phones screens and all I can do it let the next seller know is my experience was positive, with a message that they probably will not read because their rating will shine bright with a 100% rating!

Believe me, your report will not make you look like the bad guy...

When you report buyer abuse, many times you will not see any direct effect but I'm sure that a record of events is kept...buyer keeps doing shady things and enough sellers report that buyer and the buyer will either lose their MBG on future purchases or have their account restricted/penalized.

The key is for ALL sellers to report poor buyer behavior.  I think that MOST sellers do not report bad buyers b/c they do not see the consequences.  It probably takes more than one or two reports for eBay's algorithms to pick up that there is a problem with that buyer and then sends the buyer over for further review.

If sellers do not report unscrupulous buyers, then these "buyers" can revel in the knowledge that they can continue with this behavior, and nothing will be done.

Always report bad behavior.

Sorry for your experiences, but other web sites, as far as I know, do not have provisions for leaving feedback for buyers.

Report the buyer, and move on with your day🙂

Hi,   All the sites I sell on people do leave feedback on. 5 other sites I sell on & 5 accounts here. Here is the only one that has such terrible feedback rules.

Good luck all!!!

You can reply to feedback given but I would advise you to step back for a while...take some deep breaths and walk away from the computer and do something else before doing so,  that way you can be sure of a more balanced reply...if you choose to do so...

...sometimes as @buyselljack2016 said...it is just better to report the abusive buyer and move on.  No comment to their feedback is better... looking at it from a prospective buyer's view.

One of the messages is about not receiving the product. The other is about not receiving the refund. Are the feedbacks true? If they are true, the only way to prevent this kind of feedback is to deliver the product you are selling.

They didn’t receive the product because of USPS, I’m not sure what happened during that delivery but I told them to open a case because that’s easier and faster to refund vs me opening one. They decided not to and left feedback instead. Tracking was provided so I did my job well. USPS is honestly the cause of that.
The other one mentioning a refund and messages is untrue because I sent her messages before and after i opened the cancel/ refund case of her order. She never messaged me back. I see she opened a case (which confused me bc my case was opened first but ok) and from there I was able to refund faster from me opening a case.

On my end I’m not able to reply back. After those two I’ve definitely made adjustments.

I clicked on your 120 feedback number, and I don't see any negative comments.  If you then scroll all the way to the bottom, you should see a link to

Respond to feedback received

I believe you have up to 30 days to use that link after the feedback has been left.

Hi, just to clarify, eBay holds the seller responsible for the delivery, not the carrier. Ebay considers that the seller's job is not complete until the item reaches the buyer's address. In reality, obviously the seller has no control over the mail system, but in eBay's universe the seller is culpable.

Feedback rant

Hello to everyone,

I have received a negative feedback from one of my clients recently. It doesn't bother me that is negative, it bothers me that is a false negative feedback regarding the item that he had purchased. I have contacted Ebay and they told me that they can't do anything and the buyer is entitled to say anything he wants, regardless if his feedback is true or not.  Back in the days none of this non-sense was allowed and Ebay was actually doing something about it.

The buyer complained that he had received a motorization system for an awning without instructions , electrical cord and a wall switch. The problem is that there is no way on earth you can set the motor without the instructions. You just can't set it without the instructions as you have to press and play with the remote control in order to set it.

Much more it says in the post that that we don't sell wall switches and the motor doesn't come with one.  It comes with a remote control.  It didn't matter to Ebay that we have specified all these details in our listings.

In addition he complained that the motor received came without an electrical plug,- none of my motors come with an electrical plug.

It's mind-blowing how Ebay allows these practices. It's like selling apples and ebay and the client's feedback is " I haven't received any oranges with my apples purchase" . How on earth is that even possible and allowed?

Is it me or Ebay just doesn't care at all anymore ?!  Any suggestions? I seriously consider closing my account after this experience.
