Fading Pictures

Greetings All, I have noticed all my pics looked faded out like they are sun bleached.

Has anyone else have noticed this? And how to fix w/o fixing every one?

They actually look very poor quality

Thank You to all who respond.

I do not use a flash. I have good lighting. and my camera is full automatic. No settings. I have used the same cam for 5 yrs now. I know its not the camera. I just noticed the fading about a week ago

Yes they are all good looking pics but when a serious collector looks at a Indian Head Cent the color is huge. I loose money when the pics are faded. I know that I would not post a faded pic.

I'm wondering,    If they look good to me,  and they don't look good to you,   Might it

be your monitor?

Especially if ALL the pics look washed out on your screen.

Your pics look reasonably good to me. If you want them even better you should be using a scanner at a high resolution setting.

I don't sell coins but almost everything I list that is flat(ish) and within the size limitation of my basic and cheap scanner are done on the scanner. This is the best way to create images if you want the fine details to be really clear.

All the smart sellers of coins, stamps, trading cards, magazines, postcards etc use scanners over cameras (unless you perhaps have a really pro setup with perfect lighting and a high end dlsr camera).

I'm no expert, but as far as I know, computer images don't fade, even in the brightest sunlight.

No. When I do all I need to get the pics ready for post. They look just as i cropped it in lighting and size. here is a sample of a washed out coin. 125938686090, 125937382103, 125937556286.

Here is 3 samples of washout. The first 2 are washed out and the 3rd is how I post my coins and supposed to look like.

Your pics look fine. It is probably your monitor. If you're using a laptop, try tilting the lid a little to see if that changes it. If you're on a stationary monitor, it might be going out on you, or you could go in and adjust the brightness level on it. It isn't your photos, you did a great job of taking pics of things that are hard to photograph. Good luck.

I just looked at some of your listings and they look fine on my computer as well.  My guess is there is some setting in your browser or computer that is making them look washed out.  They don't look faded or washed out to me.  Your pictures wouldn't drive me away from buying from you.  I've see a LOT worse on eBay!  Heck, some of my old listing pictures are pretty cringe!

I have never thought of using the scanner. There is one under my laptop Now as I type. I also never said I was a smart man either. I will have to try and see if its gonna work better for me. At the moment when I relist a same year coin. All I do is snap 4 pics of the coin, crop, click sell similar and change the pics and post. Total time under 3 minutes each post. Thanks
