Someone explain to me why american are not allowed to sell respiratory mask but its ok for people to sell homemade and sellers in china can sell mask on ebay. But yet American cant buy the stuff they need on here? And dont tell me its about price gouging, people can make there own desicions on what they spend but this still wouldn't answer my question. All ebay did was made the outbreak worse by not allowing these sales

They allow homemade masks now.......... the more "medical" ones are allowed from approved sellers...that ebay has approved/invited. There is no way to obtain approval that we know of.......
To blame ebay for any of this is simply ludicrous...... in my opinion. I think they were foolish not to allow the homemade masks, when Etsy did......but blame them for making the outbreak worse?

I would love to answer your question, but you don't want to hear about price gouging.
"people can make there own desicions on what they spend"
So according to your logic, there is no such thing as price gouging.
How about this then. This is ebay's site. They make the rules. They're not telling you you can't sell your face masks anywhere alse at whatever price you want. If you don't like their rules, you have the freedom to sell elsewhere.
God bless the USA.

I can make/have made my own homemade masks.
This allowed me to enter the drug store where they sell the N95 masks, and the paper ones.
Making my own allowed me to enter the grocery store where they sell the N95 masks.
Making my own allowed me to enter the $ store where they sell paper masks 2 for $1.
Making my own allowed me to enter Big Lots where they sell masks.
Many states have laws about price gouging. This is not something that eBay made up.
Just something that they are not enabling.

Agreed, Chinese sellers just flood listings with many accounts either way bc ppl don't report them quickly. As well, homemade facemasks are as useless as a paper dust mask to stop an airborne virus which is much smaller than most bacteria.

The CDC says you’re wrong and I put more faith in them than I do in some guy on the internet. If they don’t work I wonder why government agencies are telling people to wear them and how to make them?

BTW they work because the virus isn’t out there wandering around on its own. The main method of travel is to hitchhike on a water droplet which IS big enough to be stopped by a fabric mask.

Unfortunately, sellers immediately started selling the medical masks and other protective antiseptic goods at shocking and exorbitant prices, right off the bat.
In an official state of emergency, selling necessities for more than a 10% markup is against the law. Those price gougers are responsible for items getting banned, if you are looking for someone to blame. Ebay has an obligation to remove illegal activity off its marketplace.
So i wouldn't blame ebay for doing what it had to do. The bad eggs ruined it for all of us.

eBay's price-gouging policy covers more than just pricing - it also covers restricted covid-related items, false medical claims, and any listing that even mentions the virus.
If you don't want us to tell you about eBay's price-gouging policy, then don't ask questions avbout eBay's price-gouging policy.
