So despite me describing my article perfectly the buyer said the description is incorrect and immediately started a return. So despite me showing evidence my item is described correctly, e-bay have sanctioned the return.
Bottomline; if you are a buyer E-bay will look after you 100% but if you are a seller... forget it.
They need to do away with 'No Returns Accepted' as clearly it's nonsense.

It does seem to slow down sure returns.
Oh and no returns does not mean NO REFUNDS:
You agree to the eBay's buyers guarantee by using eBay to sell on so you know...

SIGH..
I have no returns on most of my items as they are subject to being "rented" and returned.
That said; I include a note saying if they are unhappy, doesn't fit etc... to contact me for a return label. I would rather pay the $15-$20 return than be out a $300-1000 item.
I would do 7 days returns as this is usually not enough time to rent for an event & return to me in not the same condition but eBay doesn't allow me to select the length of return window I feel comfortable with.
INAD claims will always be approved by eBay and having NO returns forces a buyer to lie to get an approved return- some will lie just to not pay the return shipping.
So in short, Yes No returns doesn't mean NO refunds.. It's a question of do you want your item back? If yes, approve the return or eBay will refund and they will keep your item.

Not when it is a SNAD (not as described)
Always accept those and deal with it yourself if within the normal return window. Letting e-Bay step in to handle will not end well for you.
Good luck and sorry about your situation. We all seem to be dealing with these issues unfortunately.

If it's a "changed my mind" return, your no returns policy sticks.
If it's a "not as described" return, ebay's money back guarantee trumps your no return policy.
And yes, if it's a he said, she said situation, buyers says not as described, you say it is as described, ebay will almost always side with the buyer. They don't have the time or personnel to "investigate" each and every case/dispute.

Their Are Numerous Contradictions On Ebay, A Seller Puts, I Do Not Accept Returns, But They Force A Return Anyway, If You Wanted To Make Or Accept Offers, A Seller Would Put Best Offer In Their Listing, But Your Constantly Hounded To Send Offers Anyway, & The List Goes On & On & On!!, & Their Rules & Regulations Are Only Conveniently used when they want them used, They are not enforced at all times even in cases that they obviously should be, It's Enough to make your Head Explode !!

I ,as a seller, understand that 'No Returns Accepted' pertains only to remorse returns.
I do "no returns" as a deterrent to those wishing to "try things out" to hopefully make them think a bit before purchasing.
It is a "hit & miss" policy

There is a way to cut down on false return claims but it takes some work - you have to be a top rated seller (100+ sales in a 3 month period I believe).
But you have some protections if you do reach that standard, such as ebay refunding up to $6 in return fees and the ability to only refund up to 50% of the purchase price if the buyer used false reasoning and/or returned the product to you damaged (or returned something to you other than what you sent them).
https://pages.ebay.com/seller-center/service-and-payments/top-rated-program.html
However, I feel like once the scammers get keen to this they'll just skip ebay completely and do the "chrageback" thing which seems to be nearly impossible to fight under managed payments.. 😞

Understand your frustration but this isn't completely accurate either. There are remorse returns which are not covered by the MBG for this platform if seller doesn't accept returns. Doesn't fit or changed my mind are considered remorse reasons so the seller would not be expected to accept those. Best of luck to you....

It's true but the dishonest buyers will always find a way to force the return and if they can't through ebay then off to chargeback land they go. ;(

eBay's rules and regulations are policy on THEIR website. Your rules and regulations mean nothing and are not website policy, so it's not a contradiction at all. And you're not obliged in any way to send offers. That's strictly your decision, hounded or not.

I agree but in this instance 'I said' the item is a 2012 computer component and 'he said' its a 2010 which would be fair enough BUT the first year of manufacturer for the part was 2012!!!! Essentially they bought the wrong item and thought it would change their computer from a 2010 model to a 2012. Which is not how it works. So now I have to pay to get item shipped back to me when the description is perfect. I even got onto apple support and forum to check the info and they confirmed my info.

And lose sleep over it :^(
I've kinda lost my faith in humanity.

Exactly and I totally agree if you don't describe an article correctly then you should accept return. But when its 100% correct... and proven to be so. I feel totally powerless and I guess my only recourse is to stop using ebay

Thanks Jonathan... I will check the article you sent
