Email invalid

I got a new email address through a website co. I paid for this address. It will not accept it as valid. The address works fine for people to get in touch with me.

Could you clarify this?  Are you trying to use a domain email address? 

Not real clear on what you are trying to ask? 

Why would you pay for an email address?

Who would not accept it as valid? Which company you got the email address from?

    Why not just go to Yahoo, Gmail or a host of others and open one (for free) to use for eBay?  I have 3 or 4 but only use one for my personal correspondence with friends & family.  The others are for accounts of one sort or another................

Who or what are you referring to as "IT"?  Ebay??

Why are you paying for an email address?  There are lots of free ones out there.  Just a curiosity question.

It is just generic for the site. I got a different email to stop spam. It worked

It as in program. And although not the original question, I got tired of getting so much  garbage not having to do with eBay, I have another for personal used and it is great getting only mail from those I have given the address to. And it is really not that expensive.

The question is why I am not allowed to use it when it is a legitimate address. All they have to do is send an email verification like other sites do.

Did you actually register your new email address on your eBay account?

That may be the reason that eBay does not recognize your new email address.

Still don't understand why you paid somebody for an email address -- those are FREE!

@tedmoveson : I am curious what the domain name is on your email address that Ebay is rejecting...?
