I see another user asked this question, but there was no way to respond to them. I too got an Email from Ebay(but not in my Ebay messages) asking me to take a survey about why I opted out of International Shipping. They are offering a $25 gift card for completing the survey. I hovered my mouse above the email address and Ebays legit phone number pops up. Haven't clicked on it. Has anyone clicked on the link?

Some of these eBay surveys are done by third parties on behalf of eBay which is why they don't always come from the standard eBay URL's or appear in My Messages.
As long as you don't have to log-in or provide any other identifiable information they should be safe. When you click the link eBay would be able to identify the user that completed the survey because of a tracking code included in the URL.
Obviously if you didn't recently opt-out you might have good reason to be suspicious.

This is my take on that, if it doesn’t come through eBay messages it isn’t from eBay, eMails like that just get sent to trash. I never click on links in eMails. How would you even know the phone number is legitimate? eBay doesn’t have a number for members to call, they removed all access for us to call them. They even removed all the phone icons in the Seller hub.
I wouldn’t trust that to be a legitimate eMail from eBay.
I opted out of international shipping and never heard boo from eBay.

I took that survey. If it's someone fishing for info, they did a lousy job as all of the info they requested is now displayed for all of my buyers to see.

They present a lot of "what-ifs". If we offer this, would you use the service kind of stuff.

I haven't received such a survey, but I would not to click on anything.

I click on nothing I didn't ask for.

It's the San Jose Corporate phone number which of course can be copy/pasted by anyone. I don't need $25 that bad. I will just delete it.

Well, I didn't get an email survey request, but when I opted out of EIS a pop up box immediately appeared asking me why I was opting out. One of the options was something like "I already have an international service". That was the end of it.
Frankly, even if it looks legit I don't trust anonymous surveys. Phishing. And that gift card is the bait.

Here's the full text of the message I received:
"Hello! eBay would like to understand more about your reasons for opting out of eBay International Shipping.

I used to do online surveys on a regular basis and when I was doing them I learned very quickly to avoid surveys that came from Qualtrics. The company has a nasty habit of not paying out. Their preferred method of doing this is to wait until the survey taker has completed the survey and then telling them that they didn't qualify for a variety of reasons i.e. they've already reached their quota of completed surveys, the survey taker doesn't match the required demographics to take the survey, the survey taker took to much time completing the survey, etc.. IMHO they're a bunch of crooks.
Did you actually receive the gift card?

I took the survey yesterday, so I wait.
