I have been selling and buying on Ebay for many years. I sell about 5k of product each year. 99% of the time I have no issues with an order. This time was different.
I sell glass table tops and are sometimes delivered by an in house delivery truck. One order recently was going to boyton beach FL, the item was delivered late but I kept in contact with the buyer. he never responded to my messages.
His glass was delivered to his address on 4/21, he then proceeded to file a dispute stating item not recieved. Customer support sent me an email with a link to upload any information on the delivery of the item. I sent them the original invoice from my supplier as well as the delivery notice from the driver.
Well, three days later, they credited the customer and back charged me the amount of the sale.
After contacting Ebay and giving them an ear full, they said they never recieved my documents to prove delivery.
I was livid at this point and explained to them my perfect feedback rating and the amount of sales that I do each year. And the buyer has only bought or sold two things on ebay in the last few years.
I have no recourse, they won't accept my doucuments now because it's past the 3 day request, even though I sent them but they didn't find them. They won't budge on this.
I'm an honest person and would never think about ripping someone off.
In closing, I am sure Ebay looks out for it's buyers not us sellers, it's a shame.
Any thoughts?

Sorry for hear that your buyer scammed you.
However without online tracking the buyer will always prevail with an INR.

welcome to the reality world of ebay. I'm sorry for you and call paypal to see if they can do anything if the financial transaction went through them. If through a charge card I would call them and out in a claim for fradulent transacton to see if they can do something.
The sad thing is that Ebay as a slush fund and they could have given you the money back in the form of credit - they did that for me. They were just being hard a____ and refusing to admit they made a mistake. It takes a strong company to admit a mistake.

that's the problem. most of my big items are shipped via house delivery truck. no tracking info just delivery confirmation.
All of your listings have free shipping via fed ex ground or home delivery - no reference to freight delivery or local pickup. That's where your problem comes in.

The others are right, without online tracking showing delivered by a delivery company, you will lose every dispute.
Your mistake after trusting ebay about seller protection was ignoring the red flags by the buyer who never responded to your messages. You should have made sure that they could confirm an address and that they would be home when delivery was made. If they ignored you, I would have reported the buyer for invalid contact information and then canceled the transaction and taken the potential defect hit. Better than losing the money and the item.

Being the thoughtful and caring seller you are and to insure your buyer has a wonderful shopping experience at the time a heavy item is going out for a home delivery you should also send a small gift to your buyer by priority mail and load the tracking number into the listing to help you keep your records straight as to who got a gift and who didn't....

For a mirror, they could send a length of picture wire via first class for 2.60, then they woud have tracking ....

It's too bad there is no way to know whether you are doing business with a crook until it's too late and you've been scammed and out $ from the transaction. What an awful shame. Sorry to hear you've been had.
