You never know (unless they say) what sellers have multiple accounts so there is no way to search around and check on what they sell.

As a dealer in collectibles, I regard November /December as dead months.
This could also be true of any dealers in secondhand goods.
If it's not "giftable" don't expect it to sell in the holiday period.
Also Amazon owns Black Friday, no matter how anyone else tries.
And probably Cyber Monday.

I don't claim to be.
But when my sales are slow or I have a 0 sales day, it's because nobody is interested in buying my stuff.
No other reason.

I'm having a weird moment; many months ago I bought up a guy's large collection of woodworking books and DVDs. For a while the DVDs did well at auction, especially to repeat buyers. Then they stopped so I listed as FP. No movement that way either. But just recently the things have been really moving. The repeat buyers are back. Of course I send most of the buyers a little note saying I have lots more and am trying to get them listed. A lot sh ow up on the Watch list; I send offers and some sell that way. Some are selling as soon as I list them, even the more obscure stuff. Don't know what was put in the water. Maybe people who like to do woodworking spend more time in the shop in colder weather?

My sales have slowed down also. I don't know if it is because I refuse to pay for promotional listings and in general avoid paying any extra fees. Anybody have any thoughts or suggestions?

I think theres been more complaints on poor clothing sales this season than Ive ever seen on the board. Its probably just the overload of clothing listings with slightly over fifteen million listings the last time I looked.

Most of your clothing brands are very over-represented on this site, and easily found in most stores and thrifts. Sorry, but there's no other way to put it - clothing is a very tough sale unless it is unusual, sought-after OR (possibly) designer.
Still, people have been complaining about slow sales for the 20 years I've read this forum, and this is posted almost every single day. Lots of chat here.

I sold clothing here many years ago, and I learned quickly what sold, and that was unique, designer, clothing items.I couldnt list them fast enough. When I scroll thru clothing listings today, I see those same types of clothing flying out the door. Everything else seems to be lost in the shuffle.Theres just too much of the everyday stuff and brands to make any of them stand out.

Something is broken. My sales are WAY down from usual. I've never had weeks as terrible as the ones I've had lately. November is bleak.
With the fees, taxes and shipping. If my day today ends with less than $30 in sales my family is going to starve. I've been doing this full time for 15 years and never experienced sales as terrible as they've been since about October.

The one thing that stands out to me immediately is that a lot of your shipping prices are VERY excessive. For example, you have those McDonald's toys with $9.10 as the shipping cost! Those can go Ground Advantage for under $5 (or around $6.10 if you choose not to pass the shipping discount on to the buyer). Most of your shipping prices are way above the actual cost for shipping those items, and that's going to make buyers hit the back button. You need to sit down and actually weigh your items instead of just using a set shipping cost because that's unquestionably hurting your sales.
