Feel absolutely let down by ebay and these scalpers e bay completely know what's happening and continue to let this happen. I have been a member on ebay for around 11yrs.. I shall not purchase anything again and going g to close my account. Thought Ebay had better morals than this. SHAME ON EBAY!!!!!! How about looking after your customers instead of thinking how much money you can make especially I such a dire time in the world with covid and people losing there jobs

Buyers have an iron clad money back guarantee here, you just have to follow the process and pay attention to the timeline.
What happened?

There are no set prices at auction or flea-markets. Prices vary between sellers as the crow flies. Some people do by up things in hopes of getting rich but, they seldom do. Just find another seller.

Can you explain what happened? I would think scalpers were pretty much out of business - there are hardly any sports or concerts that you can scalp tickets for.

My guess is that OP is not talking about Ebay's MBG or scalping ie tickets.
Since OP brought up Covid, I am thinking OP is talking about prices too high on Ebay for Covid related products.
??

I just replied to topic. Not specifically to OP.

eBay has gouging rules in place for pandemic-related items and necessities. If you find any of those types of items that are overpriced, report them for price gouging.
Other than those specific items, eBay does not set pricing ... sellers do.
Some sellers are selling full time ... this IS their job. Others are relying on their eBay sales to make ends meet because they are out of work due to Covid.
Buyers are not the only ones affected during these "dire" times.
We are all in this together.
If you have a problem with something you have purchased, you are covered by the eBay MBG.

If you dont like the "price", find another seller.
If all items are selling for the same and you still dont like the price, go to the mall.
No one is making you buy at any price.
eBay is a company and most companies, like tables, do not have morals.

No one here is sure what you are griping about. eBay morals are for what makes them money .
A wild guess at what you are saying:
You purchased some thing and found it cheaper else were after the fact????

Nooo.... Don I think OP is saying: " there is scalpers raising the price of Covid vaccines!" ...whew too much coffee this morning!

eBay itself doesn't sell anything.

After we get tired of guessing at the OP's actual problem, let's sit back and wait for him to return and explain, presuming that happens.

That wouldn't be a very lucrative market these days now that everything is readily available in stores again. I was just in CVS the other day and they had plenty of toilet paper/paper towels/sanitizer/etc. on the shelves.
