The first thread had gotten soooo long....this is the continuation of the thread. Go at it.

Well after 2 really good months - I've hit a slump and just when I'm getting great finds at garage sales!

I've noticed a slump in sales or items selling at low prices on other sellers listings. Personally I have stopped listing regularly due to lack of time and frustration of not getting many purchases or even views. Most of this years have been a disaster so I just let my existing listing run out.

We know that every year at this time most sellers suffer except those selling pool equipment, gardening tools, and outside decorations. Many sellers thought that without all the free promo listings which bloat the categories - we would have better sales - and I have to say - I thought that was working - but this month has been a downer.
There are buyers out there as I've been buying on Ebay more now than I have in years - but search is a big problem. I sometimes get 2 results for a search and yet under similar items are items that should have been included in my search - same keywords - but they aren't and if search is filtering like this - how many buyers will bother to look at the similar items?

April was great with 52 sales~~I'm a small seller so 52 was good for me. So far this month I've sold 10. Pickings at the thrift shops are bad~~I think everyone is having their own yard sales instead of donating like they have in the past. It's hard to be motivated when sales are slow. I may as well be outside enjoying the weather like everyone else.

what I'm seeing is nobody is finding my listings. The hit counts sometimes things get no looks at all. None. If no one sees them, no one will buy them. And it's been like this for a very long time. With the auto relist I can watch and see some weeks they get no hits, some weeks a few hits, some weeks a lot of hits. But no sales.
I generally run things auction style because they get a tad more visibility, but not much. I price them slightly lower than what others have sold for in past listings. What's really frustrating is I can have an item that's sold regularly in the past and put it on and be the cheapest price one listed - and it does not sell. I can post an item that the only one found in completed listings sold easily on a BIN and still nothing.

It dropped for me since late January. This week I had a first - I sold just as many items on Bonanza as I did here.

Miserable. I am over 50% down from last year this time.
Sales are extremely slow so I am running mm sales. Items that sell are selling for less than the items sold for last year. Ex: a pre-owned gymboree dress sold last year this time for $12-$14, this year I've had to lower them to $10 and under.
I have to keep up with the competition if they want to sell and there driving the market price down. As I read someone else say "a race to the bottom".

Last week was slower than I'd like. Today wasn't too bad and I am pushing auctions hard so have bids on a few things. One auction has not been paid for yet. I got a combined order which I always appreciate; it shows that at least one person has taken the time to look through my store and find additional books and get a good deal on combined shipping.
I just came off the booksale season and have a ton of stuff to list, should keep me busy for the next few months. I don't go to yard sales as a rule but I hit a local large church sale today and found some good books and DVDs. I have no idea what would be a good item to buy for resale outside of media, and even then I use a scanner.

I dunno. Ebay is supposed to be the PLACE for the seller, small or big. And if we don't make money, they don't make money.
I only list for the free promos, and if/when that's gone, I'm gone.

Totally agree. No views. No watches. No sales.

kat - the thrifts haven't been too bad but I love the garage sales! Being prices are sl low on clothes already - I hate to spend $2 - $3 on items when many times I can get them at a garage sale for $1 and under. While the season is just starting here and I've scored a lot of nice things I need to list - I'm trying to limit it to 5-10 a day as I''ll go thru the monthly allotment too quickly and I don't want to pay for more if everything has slowed down.
What I will say is that many of the garage sales I've been to are asking premium prices - $2-$3 for a Merona top, $5 - $8 for a Ralph Lauren - it's crazy. You can get many of these things cheaper on Ebay!
When I have a sale the NWT that haven't sold here are being sold for what I pd for them - the used clothing 50 cents - I want to get rid of it - not keep it until next year.

By the way - anyone familiar with America's Thrift as they have one down near my son in Alabama. I wondered how the prices are and if there are special days for discounts?

Its slower than ever. Some of my items weren't showing. Then I had to revise all my listings because of the postage glitches/keyword searches were gone and I had to re enter them. Something is wrong internally with ebay right now for sure. Starting to selling more on other sites than ebay which is very unusual. If sales don't pick up I will be cancelling my store subscription too.
