Ebay removing used audio tapes

Ebay removed whole lot of my used audio tapes as counterfeits. There was no mention of any music on tapes, just that they are used for recording. What's going on?

Without seeing the listings themselves I have no idea.

"Counterfeit" might not be the best word for this situation, but basically if the audio tapes are "used," the assumption is that they have commercial recordings on them (such as recorded from vinyl LPs), and so technically you would be selling copies of that music (whatever is on the tapes) without having the rights to do so.

I don't know if I would recommend putting them back up here, but if you do, you should state clearly that each and every tape is blank or erased. I would not use either the Relist or Sell Similar options; start fresh with a reworded title, new photos and a new description, so that the bots will not find any connection between the new listing for blank tapes and the old "used" listing that they yanked.

Ebay removing used audio tapes

sounds like you should dispute the removal

sometimes i think they have part time workers remove listings like that without knowing too much about the rules

happens to me

Prerecording audio tapes will get removed under copyright. You don't have to mention any music which is on the tapes to have your ad removed. It's no different than copying something say from tv and recording it on a VHS tape then trying to sell the VHS tape as used with something on it.
