Ebay no longer escalating cases for sellers? Money held hostage

Hey all,

On a different account, I had a buyer open an item not received case against me.  They purchased the item 29 days ago and never contacted me.  I checked the tracking that was uploaded and the item was delivered to them nearly a month ago.  Their request message included all kinds of profanities.

I contacted eBay and asked a CS to close this case and report the buyer.  CS replied that they are unable to close the case.  They said I had to wait 3 days and after 3 days ebay will side in my favor.  I requested that the case be escalated since they verified that the item was delivered and they said they can't.  Meanwhile, my funds are all on hold.  😑

Ebay should be able to close this case immediately -- I know they used to in the past.  Just seems like another headache for sellers.

Re: Ebay no longer escalating cases for sellers? Money held hostage

I have a feeling one of my buyers will open one against me since I received and email from them stating that they never received the item even though tracking shows that the item was delivered. I know the case, if opened, will close in my favor, but I do not like the idea of my funds being on hold for a long period of time.

A few months ago I had a buyer file a chargeback claim with their cc company and eBay put the amount on hold. It took about 2 months until the funds were released back to me. I understand here that eBay is somewhat at the mercy of the cc company and the speed in which they look at the case. But I had a couple of these chargeback experiences in the past and it took eBay a couple of days until they released the held funds back to me.
