Ebay makes a genuine improvement to the phone app

Just wanted to say thanks to ebay team for improving the app - After the update day that had people wondering what happened to the descriptions..... it all seems to be working correctly and what I found out is-

If you click on a listing and then double-tap on the title- you are immediately directed to the item description screen.    What an improvement.  You now longer have to scroll down past promoted listings and advertising of "items like this" etc.

A genuine improvement for buyers and sellers to the app.   No more clutter from the PL and suggestions. I already clicked on the listing- that is what i want to see. simple. Makes it faster to get to the meat of the listing.

Only issue now is that nobody knows about the feature or would ever find out unless accidentally tapping title 2x. we need to get the word out or ebay should somehow "teach" people the features.

I cannot agree that hiding the entire description makes any sense at all - it simply lets Ebay jam in ads or irrelevant listings from rival sellers where you would normally expect to see the description of the item you clicked on.

You are right that nobody knows about that 'feature' of tapping twice on the title to bring up the description. Its not much use if no one knows about it and I have yet to see Ebay publicize it in any way. Casual users especially will have no clue that it exists and will simply buy or not buy based on the photos.

The mobile format of listing display continues to be a mess and I do not see that this is an improvement at all. Put the full description back in where it belongs. (Given how skimpy the descriptions are these days - especially by sellers using their phone for the job - its not as if there is that much space being taken away from ads and other listings.) Since mobile is a scroll-only format with no pages then it doesn't matter how long the description is because the ads can always be present as well.

Sorry, but I've tried over and over to use and like the phone app. It just doesn't work for me and is not useful IMHO.

It downright scares me that buyers are allowed to purchase items in the default format presented. I do not understand how such a large company can fail at making something like a phone app.

Not trying to sound mean, but the app is a liability.

I recently sold a broken motherboard and I prayed that the buyer read the description and wasn't using the phone app...true story.
