There was an email in my inbox today from ebay. It explained how I could use my sales revenue to buy goodies on ebay without waiting, kinda like how we can pay for shipping with those funds without waiting. I busted a gut and fell onto the floor. How many ways will ebay come up with for me to use the funds instead of just sending them ASAP. ? Oh wait, they will send them ASAP if I give them another fee. I have to say this made my day...

Not only that; but when you opt in- there is no more option for 'daily' payouts (as they stated 'Weekly, Bi Weekly or Monthly).
Eventually, Daily Payouts will be a thing of the past.

My Seller Hub 'Tasks' tile shows me that I can "Shop with sales proceeds" and suggests that I "Enroll now". Yeah, right... 🤣

A wallet option is something sellers have been begging for since MP rolled out. Some have claimed that not having it will be The End of eBay. 🙄 But not so much, I guess.

SELLERS asked for this and started asking for this the day MP replaced PayPal.
eBay likes it because it means those sellers will spend money buying stuff on eBay, they might even spend that money on YOUR eBay stuff instead of having it sent to their bank to be "wasted" on food and rent.
One more thing....what part of OPTIONAL do you not understand?

Sadly you are most likely correct. I also get emails regularly about ebay capital. That one make me laugh as well, same thing there. Just send me the money and I will have cash to buy new inventory. Lucky for me this is just a side hustle, I cannot imagine trying to make a living on ebay, that would be a tough go.

Whoa there YOU missed the humor.. read again with a lighter frame of mind......and by the way I do understand the policy. have a good one !

I liked the PayPal stored balance feature. They gave me a debit card so that I could use my money to buy anything I wanted on other sites as soon as I was paid for something. I could also go to the local ATM and withdraw cash at will. It was a nice program with a cash back feature for using the card even on food, rent, or eBay.

@ittybitnot But as I remember, in the early days of Paypal, it was just like this: you could use your PP balance on ebay, but no where else. It wasn't until ebay decided to start expanding PayPal off ebay that any of that changed.

@my-cottage-books-and-antiques
Perhaps that was true, but I don't ever recall not having the debit card....I guess it is a function of OLD AGE..lol. eBay was never PayPal's only customer even when eBay owned it. eBay had their own system there for a while (Billpoint?) Since I sell where people can pay me via a PayPal invoice, I still use it.

Well funds in PayPal to purchase with ending: this acualy cost eBay in sales. Folks dealt with the income they received as expendable: When eBay went to MP that changes funds in bank were not considered expendable. One of them changes that aided in loss of sales it seems.
Were as a great deal of folks then did not have a clue as to the total cost of selling even: one can see the why of all of this.
A good laugh, yes:
practical in the long run, time will tell.
Just saying folks.

I remember the days before Paypal. The days you trusted your buyer and took cashier checks, money orders, personal checks, even money sent through the mail. When Paypal came around, not everyone was ready to trust that new way of doing business and I was one of the hold-outs until I saw how successful it was for doing business. Watching eBay and Paypal go through their growing pains has been interesting.
As my life took different turns, I did not have time to sell here and would drop out for a few months and come back. Then I tried Etsy when it was announced we couldn't leave negative feedback for buyers. Etsy was a disaster most of the time but I did well there until they decided we weren't grown up enough to handle our own money and business decisions. I left there.
I took time off from both sites to tend to things here at home and now have returned. Boy, has this been a new learning curve. I have been struggling with all the new changes but should survive this, too.

thanks for your "history" story. welcome back too. when we get new stuff figured out here, they change it all up. never ending nightmare! but plenty of us are willing to roll with it all. good luck selling again!

I am amused at these offers I get for eBay Seller Capital.
Loans for up to $500,000.00 at 12.99% for up to 60 Months.
If they screened their customers they would know that I am not going to make a payment of $11,374 per month for 60 months.

I miss the early days folks. I miss the folks that have gone away... What can I say: things change....
Need a tear icon some days...
