I have about 75 listings that are set to continue until cancelled, but they still 'renew' every 30 days. As of this past week when they hit the renew date, they are simply ending and when I go to relist it says I can't because I need a UPC code (my items custom made and thus the UPC does not apply to my listings). I can't simply put "does not apply" because I removed UPC from item specifics at the time of creating my template, and there is no provision to put it back. I have a call to eBay on this and they seemed to think this was not normal and are looking into it, but it is really frustrating if I have to redo every !@#$ing listing to accomodate this feature that offers me NO benefit. Is anyone else seeing this? In the meantime I have 'dead' listings that are not generating revenue.

I pay ebay too much money to have them make more work for me. If they want to give me a store subsrciption for my troubles, then we can talk.
That said... I figured it out. Need to apply it under variations... (would be nice if they had pointed me in that direction at some piont).

Where it says UPC code click on the little tiny hard to see click down button. It will give you option like does not need, or not applicable or something like that. I had a very hard when that started too. Good luck!! I think the problem is when you call if you can’t get an answer you need to come here bc you’ll be sent back through to same call center over and over.
Goid luck. Hope this helps!!

Except that link doesn't do anything.

Redoing 75 listings is not an acceptable solution under any circumstances.

I can relist as 'used', but again, that is not an acceptable solution.

"Up to you"
My point is, my time shouldn't be spent redoing 75 listings that have been working fine for months, when I should be adding 75 new ones.

The UPC field isn't in the item specifics area and I don't think you can actually delete it.
When I click on one of your listings and click on sell now as if I'm going to sell something similar I see the UPC area right above the condition field and when I click on the arrow on the box to the right, I see UPC or Does not Apply. You don't see either one of those options? I don't know if do not apply will be a permanent solution but I do have it on some of my listings and haven't had a problem so far.
I'm not sure what else to suggest.

You are right that it's not in item specifics. I'm doing one from scratch and I see where it is but it's not 'there' when I go to relist one of the affected listings.

We understand your point. Here's the reality. You can go ahead and do the work required to redo your listings and start selling again, or you can waste a lot of time fighting with eBay over something they're not going to fix anyway, and lose out on sales you could be having.
So, yeah. Totally up to you, as @lookng2015 said.

Instead of selecting RELIST, try SELL SIMILAR. It should populate all the fields you already had, if you're logged in on the same ID as you created it, but should also display that UPC code field for you.

From my experience I find that it is "Brand" in item specifics that triggers the insistance upon a UPC code. eBay programming from what I can tell requires some brands demand it while others don't. In the event I am selling an item that does require a code (such as Polo Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein - at least in some categories anyways) but I don't have the UPC code, I simply abbreviate the brand name in item specifics. Polo Ralph Lauren becomes PRL and Calvin Klein becomes CK). Sidestep but it works.
