My listings say:
All items as-is, no refunds.
Please ask all questions BEFORE bidding.
Please don't buy from me if you are a nit-picker, complainer, ebay flipper or any other kind of weirdo.
STILL, I encounter ebay, "Flippers". These are people that buy from me & then instantly file a complaint asking for partial or full refund. Sometimes I miss these notifications (in a mountain of ebay emails) & end up losing my money & my product. These people then sell it on their page while my seller rating goes down! Ebay is anti-seller, period! I think I might have to stop dealing with ebay - too many weirdos & no protection or support as a seller.

I'm just a regular guy trying to occasionally part of with some collectibles without getting ripped off!
They purchase first, ask questions second & file for refund third.

Been buying & selling on here for years with a 100% seller rating.
One bad, weirdo, newbie customer & my seller rating is in jeopardy?
How in the Hell is that fair?

If an item is received damaged your buyer does not have to take that up with the post office, your buyer is protected by the eBay money back guarantee.

You're dealing with the public, and there are lots of 'pita' people out there. But, buyers have to be protected 1st. Know that 'no returns' is simply something to make you feel in charge- your not as long as you sell here or any similar format. In fact, the only format you'll be able to use is 'in person', and even then, 'pita' people are local as well.

I tried telling that to this same poster in another thread he stated this in
Its a seller's responsibility to deal with carriers, not buyers
The seller is the carriers customer therefore they have to deal with any damages...IF an item was damaged during transit. Once the item is marked delivered, and damage happens after that, its neither on the seller nor the carrier

You can say anything you want in your listings, but if it contradicts how eBay perates then it means nothing.
Sometimes I miss these notifications (in a mountain of ebay emails)
That is entirely your own fault. Selling on eBay requires that a seller monitor his account, and "I missed an email" is no excuse. You need to either log into youre account periodically and moitor the messages in eBay, or go into your eBay preferneces and turn off the mountain of emails that are causing them to get missed.

As far as your "warning" to buyers goes, it seems like waving a red flag in front of a charging bull to me. It sure won't give you any protection, but could makes things worse.
If you are getting so many emails that you miss a return being opened on you, then you need to go through your site preferences to see if you can opt out of some. Returns are important to not miss and should show up in several places. If you allowed ebay to handle this for you, then you would receive a defect. That is far more harmful to your account than the possibility of bad feedback.

I sold a used auto part "not tested, as is, for parts or not working" and was willing to help the guy if it didn't work until he went to eBay and opened a return. Somehow this turkey got them to give him a return label billed to me to return his sold as-is item.
I got it here and it had never been removed from the bag I wrapped it in. The corners of it poked some holes in the bag and it only had one set of holes. IMHO he found another one cheaper somewhere else. Not the first time.
People see eBay and think it means the same as Wal-mart, they don't care that you're buying from the equivalent of a flea market seller.
I refunded him less a restocking fee and shipping both ways and haven't heard any complaints.

Those comics readers must be a tough crowd.

Cover yourself by using USPS Priority mail. This way there is tracking, if the item is suddenly "damaged," they have to take that up with the Post Office. The PO covers up to $50.
The seller deals with the carrier for an insurance claim.
Buyer has Ebays MBG to cover them.
