Ebay increasing quantity when using sell similar / resisting. They want me to get an out of stock?

Please be aware to always Check quantity and if free shipping is checked off when using sell similar / relisting. I am referring to doing so from my sold listings for items I never had listed as a quantity of more than 2 but when I set up the new listing using these options it automatically goes to a quantity of 4. Yes, rechecking is my responsibility, but it really shouldn't be doing this all the same.

Yes it is  a well known glitch among listings with variations, out of stock items will be listed after sold again and again.

It's been an issue for quite sometimes but Ebay can't/won't fix this glitch so they let the sellers do the work of watching quantities each time listings are being renewed, 

handle frustrated buyers who were able to purchase out of stock items and the best of all, sellers being punished by Ebay due to cancelations of a sale  due to out of stock items.

I have called merchant support several times about the same thing along with about ten other glitches. They tell me they are sending a ticket to IT. Which I think translates to "The circular Bin".

Thanks for the reply. No variations for my listings, I can see how that would complicate things further. I agree, Ebay will just watch as sellers take the defects for their glitches that we fail to catch.

Thanks, I am glad I am not the only one noticing this. Doubt eBay cares and I will have to be especially careful. Just another thing to add to the list of glitches that can cause us problems.
