My frustration has been building for a while. Ebay regularly changes policies and websites to stymie me the seller. For years I sold on Ebay Canada in US funds. This worked well because approx 3/4 of sales were to US buyers and I would use the US currency generated, whenever I travelled or bought something in the US. Ebay changed their policy a while back that all Canadian sellers must sell in Canadian funds. I Got a US address and tried to sell from this location. This does not allow shipping calculator from Canada so shipping has become very complicated.
I have had a Paypal credit card for years and this worked well to spend the US currency discussed above. Now as of April Paypal has cancelled all credit cards to Canadian users. Card does not expire for another couple of years but it is their new policy. No explanation given. Not sure if Ebay and Paypal are still connected. They used to be.
My lastest frustration is that Ebay has changed website again and it is very hard to navigate to basic selling program. I have used basic for years and it is most comfortable and shows the columns I want better than the newer Summary pages.
This company makes it very hard to stay a customer. They seem intent of driving me away.

First any change affects someone and change isn't welcomed by most... so what's done isn't directed at you as I'm sure you realize.......
Paypal and Ebay are separate companies now.....and I think Canada changed some of their laws so that ebay had to change their handling of some things..... You might call or email paypal about the cc....perhaps they are offering an alternative.....
Change is hard......and I think all of us have to make the decision as to whether or not any change is worth the effort........for some it is, others, it's not. It's a sure thing that changes are coming faster and faster thru out all walks of life though........

Yep as stated above ebay & Paypal made the split several years ago and Paypal is now it's own company with it's own unique policies, but generally they try to do what they can to work with ebay in regards to policies and etc.
About the credit card thing, again I would do as dh said and try calling their customer support for more information. I have found when I call Paypal even if there is a long wait, using the "call back" feature has never failed me and I've always received a follow up call within the estimated time.
I understand your frustration and I hope you find a way to adapt to it so your business can continue to thrive.
Best of luck to you!
