Ebay Search Engines not working? At least Not for me.

Has anyone else noticed that the ebay search engine is not working properly?  Could this be a problem on only my side. (computer error)

I have been searching for blue rhinestone clip on earrings.  The left side menu is giving me the options.  The top right side category search is showing "All Categories".

I tried to advance search to eliminate descriptive words I do not want included in my search but when I Press the search button, I get a search in all categories and not jewelry:Vintage:Costume:Unsigned:Earrings.

Can anyone let me know if they are having the same problems?

I tried to replicate what you posted.

I went into costume earrings designer.

I deleted one word - thermostat

And it worked.

Yes, you will see all the categories to the left.  But the category you are looking into will be highlighted and the results only came from that specific designer category.

I just searched blue rhinestone clip on earrings and had 1688 results.  I then did advance search and excluded yellow black green in title and it came back 1688 results.  Titles still included black yellow and green.  Hopefully someone else will check it out but something seems wrong.

Thank You Emerald40. I should have included that the advance search doesn't seem to be working for me either. Excluding title descriptors does not work in advance search.

I just tried it and the number of listings dropped to 1068 and did not include the excluded terms.  Odd.

Maybe I am not doing it right? After numerous years, you would think that I would remember how to do this.

I did the search (1683) again with excluded words red yellow green and pink and still came back with 1677 listings.

I'm pretty sure I'm doing the search right.  

Of course, now I'm going to have to do a search on my items to see how many show up when I use excluded words in advance search.

Well darn.  I just searched modernist cat brooch and had 191 listings.  In advance search, I excluded the word gold and my brooch still showed up in the search.  Hmmmm

@dhbookds, I still get the excluded words.  I don't think it is user error.  I guess that as long as my listings are showing, I'm happy.  Thanks for double checking my results.
