Ebay Sales 2023 Is Dead. Nothing but watcher and Unsure Buyer. New InFrastucture Is Killing Sales

This all happen litterrally when they change category around of last year. They bounce back after 2 month of slow down ( You can see the image of my sales drop during the change ). I was making 1k to 2k a week of last year on average. In 2023 As of June, I am barely making anything but rather trying to push sales. My sales went down too $100-200 a week compare to last years. Last year i was barely even trying to make 1k to 2k a week. My inventory isn't the problem, My items are range from lots of different area. My pricing are base on lowest price listed or sometime a little higher depending on the condition. 

Ebay litterally screw up everyone with changes without listening to the seller. Seller are moving away from this platform and importing their inventory on multiple Emerce. Ebay is getting to be so bad, I getting more Veiws on facebook marketplace and sold item's that been sitting on eBay for 1 year. 

Buyer: Now on ebay we have buyer that are playing children games. Constantly watching the ad without Interest. Playing penny picking games because they're re-seller. Buy and Re-sell on their listing for more trying to make chump change without doing anything. 

Watcher:  Watcher are playing the devil shady game. I report all watcher, And usually ask ebay to step in and punish the watcher when playing childish games, Until they make changes with the watcher. 

Watcher: They're not buyer like they used to be, Now they're Re-seller, Keeping tabs what sold for what price. Higher Return risk, Playing penny picking games. This hurt seller, Seller and buyer don't realize it. Only a few employee from ebay are aware of this tactic. Once a watcher watches your item, You can not send out offer or edit your listing within several day's. This effect your sales, Since you can't send out any real offer to real buyers. It happen before when a buyer mention sorry too late, Purchase item

There are millions of sales on ebay every day.

Some sellers are experiencing record sales.

You could be one of them.

It just depends in what you're selling.

You cannot 'report' watchers. They cannot be 'punished' - are you really calling eBay CS with this stuff? Watchers are a passive entity - they don't DO anything.

I'm just saying not everyone's sales are tanking. I'm sure there are sellers out there having excellent sales. You wouldn't agree? Do you really think every seller on ebay sales are tanking?

I don't know what your trying to show with your pictures but sales are not dead at all. Anyone that sits here and complains about it and blames eBay has nobody to blame but themselves at the end of the day.

Trends change year to year. What you may have been selling last year may not be as desirable this year.

Maybe last year you were listing much better, faster selling, higher priced items.

Maybe this year your listing the complete opposite.

Take time and go thru your entire store and do a full audit on what your selling. Check to see how good the sell thru rates are on the exact items your selling and if they are selling at good prices.

Sales are not dead, you're just doing it wrong.

     As with many of the metrics eBay provides you need to take a deeper dive into the meaning. As  laststopgeneralstore noted there are multiple aspects to the numbers. I am assuming the 1099 is from the 2022 sales year in which you sold 355 items at a total gross revenue amount of $48K (rounded). That equates to an average of about 30 items a month at an average value of $135. 

     In the last 90 days you have sold 48 items at around $5.7K or an average value of $119 per item. Looking at just the June sales i.e. the last 31 days that notes a 28% decrease in the dollar amount while that may be true that figure is from the sale of 13 items during that time frame with an average selling price of $95 which is below your 90 day average item selling price so while you were maintaining an average sale volume during June your average selling price was lower. It's not that you sold fewer items the decrease in the dollar amount was due to the sale of lower dollar items. 

     You are also below your 2022 average selling price. I am not sure with regards to volume how many items you sold in June of 2022 but you can take the $3K of June 2022 sales and divide it by the number of items to get an idea of the trend. 

     There is more involved than just looking at the big picture and your focus should be on your return on investment and/or net profit. Ask yourself this who is better off the seller who sells one item for $500 or the seller that sells 5 items at $100? Who is better off the seller that sells one item for $500 or the seller that sells one item for $300? Only the sellers know for sure since only they know all the expenses involved with the sales. A seller could potentially sell $500 worth of items and earn less than the seller who sold $100 worth of items.

Although it's ok to disagree, good manners dictate to comply with this seller 's wish to not have watchers.

Yes you can report watcher. By using inapporiate words, This tell me that you know nothing about policy. 

I have reported watcher before and they been delt with.

I try to aim for the same items that is usually sold. I look for the lowiest price, Set prices base on lowest and maybe a little higher depend on the condition of the items

As i explained in my listing. I don't deal with chump change items. I don't sell things for a few dollars? Why work more and make barely anything. 

The down swing was explained because of the changes that ebay did and screw up everyone for a few months. 

Sorry i am not one youtuber who bragged about multiple sales per day selling items for $10-$15 dollars

yes things are not being sold, I am selling more item on facebook getting more views. I sold many items on facebook either local pickup or shipping
