Ebay Removes Purse Saying It Was Fake - Is a Major Department Store Selling Fake Purses? Really??

I purchased a white Dooney & Bourke purse from a well-known major department store M***'s years ago.  It was an expensive purse.

Listed on eBay since I am now using another purse.  

Got message from eBay saying the purse was a fake.

Is a major department store selling fake purses?  Really??    

I am a good seller and would never knowingly sell a fake item. 

I have reached out to customer service multiple times and have gotten the same message that it is a fake.

Is there anything else I can do to have this fixed in eBay?  Customer services seems very unhelpful.

I can't help with your question, but I do have a suggestion.

Take new pictures of the items that have the same teddy bear in the pictures.  Sooner or later you are going to have one of those items sell to a person that is going to raise a stink when they get their item & the bear isn't included. Even though you say it is not included. Show only the item yo are selling, no extra props.

Understand, well don't try and list it again. Why don't you post pictures of this purse on the fashion board just to get another opinion.

Any company can now claim an item is fake if they did not sell it to you directly, do not want it on the second hand market, or can not athenticate it.  There does not have to be a reason.  You are allowed to fight it with receipts or by paying to have it autheticated, but it is my understanding that this is often failing.  I just keep a list of companies pulling listings to supplement the VERO and refuse to buy their products for resale.  Let those designers start filling up landfills.

To get rid of the purse and not lose money, take it to a consignment shop and then find things to flip for what they give you for the bag.  Some resellers are finding this quite lucrative.

Thank you for the information.  Good idea!  I am planning on selling it elsewhere now. 

I also have other expensive purses from my own closet that I am not going to bother listing on eBay now.

I believe scammers buy real and return fake and the clerks can't tell the difference and the purse goes back on the shelf.

YES.  As stated above purse is bought, tags are switched onto counterfeit knock off, item returned and restocked on sales floor.

Thank you for your message.  I have been buying Dooney & Bourke purses for decades.  It doesn't look like a fake to me.

Even if you aren't going to sell that bag here, it might be a good idea to try and get the 'ding' taken off of your account.   If you post pictures of the bag on the fashion boards, they should be able to give you advice on what to do next.
