Why is it:

A buyer thru ebay messages can cuss you all they want and nothing happens?

A seller can cuss a buyer thru ebay messages and you get a warning message?

Offering 30 day returns vs 14 day returns suppose to put you higher in best match but It don't?

Offering returns vs no returns is suppose to put you higher in best match but it don't?

Buyer opens a return approved by ebay policy with saying they have asked the buyer to ship the item back by a certain date. That passes and the return remains open? Call CS and they want to give the buyer more time??

We are held to our shipping handling time or get a defect......Why not close a return by the date you have listed?

Why even have a policy for buyers IF it is not used?

Buyers will get warnings if you call to report them.

Returns are not the only factor in best match placement. Generous return policies do help but if you find yourself low in search there are other factors at play weighing more heavily than your returns policy.

Usually they extend it if they see the buyer has printed a shipping label already since the buyer may have shipped but there could be a delay in the tracking update. If the time has passed though you can insist on having the return closed, but remember the buyer can turn around and file a claim on PayPal or worse - a credit card chargeback.

"Why even have a policy for buyers IF it is not used?"

Which policy, the return time frame? I had 2 returns closed this year when the buyer didn't return the item within the allowed time.

Either there were circumstances that lead the CS rep to extend the window, or you encountered a CS rep that didn't understand the policy which is very common. The question you should be asking is why do the overseas CS reps have such a high turn-over causing endless new reps that aren't experienced enough to understand policy?

A buyer thru ebay messages can cuss you all they want and nothing happens?

A seller can cuss a buyer thru ebay messages and you get a warning message?

How do you know that buyers are not warned for cussing out sellers? Have you as a buyer done that to a seller?

Offering 30 day returns vs 14 day returns suppose to put you higher in best match but It don't?

Offering returns vs no returns is suppose to put you higher in best match but it don't?

First, are 14 day returns even an option any more?

Second, would not "put you higher" in best match. It would improve your score, but there is no gauarantee that the improvement would move you higher.

There are still 14 day returns in certain categories
Reality is the leading cause of stress.

How do you know the buyer wasn't warned?

Did you report the buyer?  That is usually the best and quickest route to bring an email issue to Ebay's attention.

Sellers are held to a different standard of conduct in this environment. It is never alright for cussing to take place by buyer or seller. But sellers are expected to keep their cool when under fire. This venue is not a democratic society. It is a place of business and as such, it would be very bad form for a seller to send such a message to anyone, but particularly bad to send to a buyer who may never return.

So if it seems to you that buyers have all the rights and sellers have fewer, you may be correct. Ebay is going to look out for the buyer's interest, and protect it. Sellers must look after their own.
