I am an EU resident , and this listing was sold from EU to Japan.
Up to few years ago, the total charges and fees with Paypal being the processor were 10%
Inthe last listing i went Over 20%%, , Its not even the profit i make.
So the question is simple ,
Is there a way to list on Ebay and make a decent profit,
the way commission and charges are calculated you need to charge over 40% to make a decent profit,

VAT was charged to the customer, not you- so don't include that
Ebay was 10%, Paypal charged you 2.9% plus .30 so total used to be 12.9% plus .30
Now ebay does both things and charges 12.55% so it's a hair less.
Bottom line- you now pay less than before.

When you sell international, you have to assume that there will be a hefty international fee on top of the FVF that it this case pushed the fee load to nearly 15.8%. Pretty sure this varies depending on the country you are shipping to and the total amount of the transaction. You have to accommodate for that in your listing price.
The VAT is paid by the buyer, correct?

While you're certainly welcome here on the US (ebay.com) discussion boards, you really should be posting this comment on your "home" board so you can get the best advice from your fellow sellers. Although quite similar in many regards, each eBay platform has its own nuances that we here in the US may not be aware of.
Rather than have US sellers try to guess or speculate on your situation, see if you can find an eBay discussion community that may be able to give you responsible, reliable answers to your post.
I see you have one listing visible on ebay.co.uk. Is that the platform on which you're registered? If so, here's a link to the UK discussion boards:

The longer the complaint the less likely the OP ever knew anything about paying 2.9% for the service PayPal provides.

Even if I was US resident 20% charges and fees are ridiculous ly high.
I m both .UK and .com registered user but after Brexit both of them are the same.

Yes selling internationally on ebay has become more expensive. Always looking for alternatives.

I don't believe that VAT is charged to buyers in Japan. I think that the VAT charge is on the sellers fees. In Canada we pay gst/hst (sales and service tax) on our fees as well.

And as in Canada the VAT is refundable if one is registered to collect/charge VAT on your sales.

Your international fee is higher than the 1.6% we pay in the US. I assume the 676 includes the shipping costs? In the US that is capped at the amount to ship the item in the US seems to be about $15 for me added to total value for an international shipment. Not sure how VAT works, In the US we pay the FVF on the tax total as part of the full transaction cost but the buyer pays the tax. Haven't bought anything from the EU in awhile but I did pay tax on a NZ purchase a few months back.
