I've been selling on eBay for over 10 years, and thankfully have a perfect 100% feedback rating. I was recently very concerned over a mistake I made while listing over 25 items. I forgot to edit out "FREE SHIPPING" from my description on a battery charger that I had put up for bids, and the buyer who won the auction asked about the listed shipping charge. He said he was unable to view the invoice. I admitted that I had made a mistake, and that I'd ship the item out to him for free once I revised the invoice. However, because I listed the automotive battery charger on eBay Motors > Automotive Tools & Supplies, I couldn't even view the invoice. When I attempted to contact an eBay customer service rep, I was given a one time code and a phone number. The phone number turned out to be invalid, and the "chat" option was "not available" at the time. I tried logging on to eBay's chat option for well over an hour, while trying to obtain a valid phone number, but was unsuccessful. There was absolutely no way for me to talk, or "chat" to anyone concerning my problem. Is this the new norm? This company bends over backwards for the buyers, but they've ALWAYS made life difficult for the sellers. Without us, where would eBay get their revenue from? This is inexcusable. BTW...I am going to cancel the sale and relist the battery charger in the Consumer Electronics category as a "buy it now" with free shipping. My customer is very understanding, and looks forward to purchase the battery charger as soon as the listing goes live. Once I sell what inventory I have left, I will end my relationship with eBay. It simply isn't worth the aggravation anymore. Thanks for listening to my rant.

@briansbidnbuy Be sure to mark the cancellation as 'buyer requests' before relisting so your customer can go ahead with the purchase, and not out of stock.
Sorry, I have no help concerning the customer service problem - others have reported not being able to use the chat feature and the site has been really glitch filled lately. If it helps, I'm not sure CS would be able to help with this, anyway, and would have gone ahead and done what you just did. I try to avoid involving CS if I at all can.

Thanks for the heads up on the "buyer request." I never had this situation happen before. I agree with you that CS probably wouldn't have been able to help me. From what I've read, they're barely competent performing their job duties. Thanks for the reply

eBay has always deliberately, intentionally, wanted to make every single encounter as difficult as possible for everyone and is always looking for new ways to make life even more miserable than it has ever been. Give up!
