EIS Category Issue

Does anyone know if there is an issue going on with EIS not allowing certain categories that it always has in the past? I have some hundreds of fixed resistors through the GSP and then EIS. I had a customer message me asking if I would ship to them in their country here today. i thought that was odd as EIS has always worked. I went to a listing and it does only show the US as the only country it ships too which again is odd. Canada has always been an option also, but it is not in the list either. The ebay generated "exclusions" list is very short also...only the conflict countries basically. I actually tried to change categories of the item and even cancelled the listing and made a new one...to no avail, still only the USA shown. I checked some other listings though and it works fine with all the countries in the list. This makes no sense. Has anyone seen the same issue today? Here is the category I am having issues with.

@pcobra93

The only thing I can think of is that certain countries may prohibit the importing of certain items for what ever reason.  Putting an item in the wrong category is considered search and browser manipulation and is an eBay listing policy violation.  Bottom line, if you can't ship it, you can't ship it.

     You didn't provide an item number but I looked at one of you resistor listings and it may have something to do with the package size. While there are max limits there are also min limits. The following is the expanded policy with regards to EIS.

https://pages.ebay.com/internationalshippingprogram/seller/terms/

     Note the following from the policy.

  • Packages must meet or exceed 7.25 inches in width and 10.25 inches in length

     I looked at the following item and while it does not ship through EIS it does ship worldwide I am assuming because you have other international shipping preferences setup in your account settings. Try changing the package size to exceed the min limit and see if it becomes EIS eligible. You can always change it back.

EIS Category Issue

This is the listing I changed for a customer to ship direct through USPS International. I really thought you may have determined what was going on but I tried revising the package size and still won't work with EIS. I understand why they need the larger box if they have to affix the customs form but these are really light and unless something has changed, that large custom form is not required I thought. I am not sure when this quit working but up until a couple months ago I would ship 2-3 a week overseas through EIS. I just thought the slow sales recently was due to the reasons everyone on here complains about and did not think anything of it. Obviously this is an issue. I guess I will try and call Ebay and see if they can shed light on it. Maybe they changed something and I will not have to change ALL my listings to allow USPS International again. This is what I see on my end.

As an update....I just checked others selling resistors and they too are only showing the US shipping. Evidently something has changed.....and I doubt I am the only one selling these that did not realize it. I guess I will call Ebay and see if this is a permanent change or a glitch before I revise all my listings.....

Chances are eBay CS doesn't know squat about this situation, I can pretty much assure you.  They'll tell you what you want to hear and it's usually false or incorrect.  If you want good CS go here:

https://www.facebook.com/ebayForBusiness/

These are employees of eBay located in the US.  They are trained CS agents.  The ones eBay provides are outsourced overseas and read from scripts.  Again, they won't get you anywhere.  Ask the FB agent about this and they usually will get back to you within about 24 hours, sometimes sooner.  Many positive posts here on this forum with their ability to be helpful.

I wish you good luck and a positive outcome per your situation!

EIS Category Issue

Ever since the Uk left the EU after Brexit shipping to the UK has been wonky. Items that should be able to be sent are blocked and eBay reps have not been very helpful getting any answers. It is a real problem with the Toys & Hobbies categories. Some show EIS while most do not. I decided to chuck EIS in the garbage bin and go back to using USPS. Hopefully eBay will get the wrinkles ironed out, but I highly doubt it. I can just imagine the mess once they activate EIS combined shipping. That should be hilarious.

Something odd going on for sure. The listing says EIS is not available however, when I went to print the label....it was. Along with the USPS International I had added for the buyer. Is anyone else seeing this issue in other categories?

Something really strange for sure. eBay International Standard Delivery is not the eBay International Shipping (EIS) program. Why they had to name it so close is beyond me. I thought they had discontinued the eBay International Standard Delivery operations.
