An item of mine recently was removed because EBay deemed it "fake/inauthentic" when in reality it is authentic. I personally bought the item straight from the legitimate retail store years ago, but don't have a receipt from 2017. It was not originally purchased used or through a third party, it came straight from the retail store.
My description was detailed and there were plenty pictures of the item and all the tags attached proving it's authenticity.
EBay removed a legitimate item that was actually authentic, yet I can find several inauthentic live listings right now of similar items that EBay doesn't bother to remove...
When I contacted EBay, they gave me the same loop hole response and didn't even bother looking at the listing.
EBay needs to be more educated on items instead of removing potential sales, taking business away and giving sellers a bad experience because EBay lacks knowledge and refuses to admit their faults.

A bot spotted your item or someone reported it. You got caught. The others did not. Do NOT even think of relisting that item. The next time, ebay will suspend you for at least 3 days. Trust me, I have been in your shoes. Ebay is like speeding. Sometimes, you get caught and others are speeding by while the officer is giving you the ticket.
Feel free to report the other listings if it makes you feel better.

Was it a VERO takedown or just ebay taking it down?

isn't surprising since they can't even authenticate authentic items through their authentication program lol, when you employ people to do a job with zero qualifications to what they have them doing it's no surprise.

Neither eBay's policy enforcement nor their counterfeit detection has ever been completely comprehensive, accurate, or timely.
And with 1.5 billion listings, it never will.

Sadly most of eBay's authenticators are random people who most likely don't know what they're looking for or doing where authenticating is concerned. All the authentication centers seem to be very flawed for many. All I can suggest is to sell it elsewhere and don't relist.
Sorry for your situation.

Glad to know as seller fees increase, seller support continues to decrease.

I'm not saying that is the case here but major retail stores are not immune from selling fakes. Buyer makes purchase and returns a fake in its place that is put back on the shelf.

It was likely someone reporting it; I denied several low ball offers from the same person so they probably decided to take their poor frustrations out by untruthful reporting.

The item was bought the morning of the release day, so that is not possible.

Could be them, could be a competitor, could be the maker of whatever this item is. The bottom line is do NOT relist it here unless you need a 3 day holiday....

I'll follow the majority saying to not relist, yet oddly the Ebay rep I spoke with told me to relist it. Glad to know Ebay is putting those extra fees towards hiring people who advise sellers to get suspended.

I agree eBay is a joke with designer items, I sold a Louis Vuitton bag on the same day it was flagged after my sale but I sent it out and eBay authenticity guarantee centre authenticated the item and sent it to the buyer. What a joke! Another Louis Vuitton bag exactly same thing happened ! Also happened with x3 other Chanel vip cosmetic makeup bags all authentic and I got in touch emailed them and was told I’d receive a response within 24hrs, never got a response so I’m calling them tomorrow and moving to another platform.
Today a Louis Vuitton neverfull was removed even though I ad it authenticated myself to avoid this happening again and again, I posted the authentication certificate on the listing and guess what??? Its also been flagged and removed, my blood is boiling with this annoying selling experience. Bull**bleep**. I feel you.
