So now we have to give eBay our bank account information, are we not able to use pay-pal if we chose ? that means they can always see what we buy and sell, and also then share it with all their partners or who ever wants to know ? Shouldn't we decide how we pay for item's or get paid for item's ? Can't even ask that question with customer service ?
Feels like more big tech control, IF WE DON'T ADHERE to these terms, than we can't sell, or buy ?
So I'v been with ebay about 25 years or so, guess all good things come to an end 😞

This has been in the works for almost three years, multiple, multiple announcements have been sent about it, so for sellers it shouldn't come as a surprise. Ebay has always known what we buy and sell, and like every other internet platform out there I'm sure they've shared all of that with other internet platforms.
It has no effect whatsoever on buyers. Buyers will still be able to pay with Paypal.

Yep, if you are not willing to provide bank account information so that Ebay's MP can deposit your sales receipts into your account then you, and you alone, can make the decision to have a good thing come to an end. This is more government oversight on financial services rather than "big tech control" of any imagined sort.
And why spend the considerable time needed trying to contact the often useless and misleading customer service when the answer to your question is easily found as the requirement to migrate from Paypal to MP has been made clear for well over two years now.

You can still use Paypal to pay for things. You need to provide a checking account to collect your sales. Its a good idea to make it a separate account and not one your family is using.

How is that any different now than before? Of course Ebay can see what you buy and sell. They always have. This is their platform.

When the seller is in Managed payments you now have MORE payment options for buying things - not less. You get paid through your checking account. Dont know what you would ask Customer service about that because they have no power to change things and can only read you prewritten answers on that topic. I would not waste your time calling them about it unless you have some specific question that cannot be answered here.

If you dont adhere to those terms about providing a checking account then you cannot sell. There is absolutely no change to your ability to buy here except for the fact that you have more payment options now.

I really want to delete my first response here. But then I thought I’ll just add to it and not be that guy.
OMG NO! When did this start happening!
This has been in the making for sometime now, we have all been notified for at least a year or more that it is coming down. And now it’s come to the end where that’s right you cannot list if you don’t change.
No you don’t have to give up your main bank account, set up an another account for eBay. Make the changes, after you do everything’s easy.
change>adapt>roll

Why is it you never hear this?...

Read the terms of the agreement. Then decide.

Can someone explain for me what it is about people they are scared to give eBay the same information they already gave PayPal, who was about equally as bad a company when they handed the information over?
I don't get it.

I didn't give "PayPal" a copy of my photo ID. PayPal (at the time I started selling) was all the same company anyway so they should have pertinent info on file already.
