No cancel message. No cancellation request. The only message received by this "buyer" was an angry "Going to leave you negative feedfback because I contacted you 2 minutes after mistaken purchase...". I sent message back that no cancellation was ever received. Now I look and see the NF as promised. EBAY PLEASE FIX.

eBay customer service reps do not read this board. We are eBay members just like you.
You can call eBay customer service to try to get them to remove the neg comment but it may not fall within the documented reasons for removing feedback unless the buyer asked for something over and beyond what the listing detailed or tried to extort you using feedback as a threat. Basically, the buyer would had to have broken eBay policies to stand a legit chance of removal.
If you respond to the buyer feedback, it will be critical to leave a highly professional response as other buyers will reflect more upon your response than the feedback left by the buyer.

I agree with you and most people are not on computer 247.

Did Ebay do away with the one hour buyer cancellation window? Last one I had the buyer cancelled a few minutes after the order and it was one and done, it was automatically cancelled and my fees refunded. (I would have approved it anyway)

Not sure.

Their neg even states you didn't cancel after two minutes of their purchase.
They can't expect you to be sitting at your computer 20/7 waiting for any messages just so you can jump through a hoop for them.
I would definitely call eBay on this one.
Sorry to say this, but I think you are missing the point (and reason for removal). Sitting at my computer 24/7 is irrelevant. I received no cancel message (by him or ebay) within two minutes or any other time. The only message received was much later after shipping item; and that message was only the threat (after he received the item) for not cancelling. I checked my messages and no other message received from him or ebay. Is this an ebay message programming glitch (or he does not know how to press a button to send a message) ?

Just some ideas:
Possibly he just thinks he sent a cancellation; or he meant to do it, but didn't.
Perhaps Ebay messaging was off; sometimes it is several days late, but you would have received it by now.
Perhaps the message went to your Spam Folder.

Are you sure? I've had a couple 1 hour ones and had to manually accept the cancellation requests and had the option to deny.
OP--I would call and have them look for the messages to see what happened.

The "Orders" section on the Seller Dashboard has an entry for "Open Cancellations".
Did the cancellation ever show up there?

Yeah, it was all automatic. I liked it, I didn't have to do a thing!
Now, it's been a while since that happened, several months or longer. I don't get that many cancellations and the ones I do get are a day or so after the sale.

Reason:Other
Comments:Without notice or prior message threatened negative feedback for non cancellation of purchase.

As far as I know, all cancellations requests are only requests, none of them should be automatically accepted even if one was made 30 seconds after the purchase.
Perhaps you were in some sort of test??

Possible I suppose. I know I liked it, whatever it was. Like I said, it was several months, maybe a year or so ago. I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't have to accept it. It was just done, and my fees immediately refunded. It happened that one time, and hasn't happened since. It very well could have been some sort of test...or a glitch, who knows. But most of my cancels happen later than just a few minutes after purchase, so I don't know how long it would have or could have happened otherwise.
