EBAY LIFTED THEIR BAN ON LISTING FACE MASKS. WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG

So the announcement came out today. eBay is inviting sellers to list cloth face masks.  Only took a month for eBay to come to their senses.    At this point, I truly have no desire to list mine anymore.

In early April, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended Americans wear a cloth face mask when away from home to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

eBay has been adapting business policies to address the evolving needs of our customers during the global pandemic. Even though we are continuing to restrict the sale of medical grade face masks onsite [https://community.ebay.com/t5/Announcements/UPDATE-Important-information-about-listings-associated-w...], we are now encouraging sellers to list cloth face masks.

When listing cloth masks, please be sure to follow these guidelines:

  1. The listing must not make any medical claims or claims regarding their effectiveness at stopping the transmission of viruses or diseases
  2. The listing may not mention “Coronavirus”, “COVID-19” or “Covid”
  3. Do not list surgical or medical masks including N95 respirators

We appreciate all that you’re doing to keep our marketplace safe and fair.

Stay up-to-date on eBay COVID-19 protections and support in the COVID-19 Community Hub.

As always, thank you for selling on eBay.

Sellers asking for something one month and then making a complete reversal when they get what they asked for is probably one of the reasons eBay doesn't listen to their sellers.

OP is not interested or appreciative of those links. Being allowed to list something takes all the fun, risk, and drama out of it.

I know you are frustrated with eBay and now have no desire to sell your masks. However, look at it this way, better late than never! And folks need your masks!

You deciding to not sell your masks only hurts the folks that truly need them. By selling them you could be helping a lot of people. I would rather have a hand crafted, nice quality mask than the cheap cloth ones offered from China.

I hope that you rethink your decision, forget about eBay pissing you off and start selling to help others!

I suspect the demand for masks is not so great anymore as supplies in retail outlets are being re-stocked, but there are still areas where there is a need to wear masks for specific outings. Even in those areas that are now deemed to be ready to re-open have requirements for masks to be worn in some situations such as for medical appointments, dental, optometry, physio therapy & so forth...

One seller, more or less, makes zero difference in the overall market or sales for homemade masks. Some of the crafters with built up inventory have surely found strong local markets without all the fees and should be doing a booming business.  eBay made a decision here and any complaints after the fact seem like sour grapes to me.
