E-Bay adding additional costs for shipping after item has been shipped

So I shipped 2 DVD via Media Mail for $2.66 in a padded envelope. Now E-Bay has charged me an additional $4.44 for shipping and changed it from Media Mail to First Class postage? DVD's are considered Media Mail by the post office, why are they doing this? Here is what is on the postage site. Media Mail is a cost-effective way to send media materials through the U.S. Postal Service. You can send books, videotapes, DVDs, CDs, printed music and other sound recordings through Media Mail as long as they weigh less than 70 pounds.

That would happen if you used a Priority Mail padded envelope.

$2.66 + $4.44 = $7.10, which happens to be the online postage rate for a Priority Mail padded FRE.

Did you use USPS  Priority Mail envelope and then stick a Media Mail label on it? If not I'd say someone at the PO goofed and not sure how you'd get your money back.

We find that very interesting.  The only reason they would change it after the fact is if they opened it and checked and saw something other than DVDs which they say they do at random.  We havent heard of any changes.  Its just 7 or 8 dollars but we would got to the postmaster and ask some questions.  Best regards

I notice you have Media Mail on your video games. Were these 2 games on DVD because games don't qualify for Media Mail. They used to but that changed a few years back and video games no longer qualify for Media Mail.

Were the DVDs movies or video games? Here's the ruling about video games not being eligible for Media Mail.

You can mail them as First Class packages if the weight is under 16 ounces.

They don't guess; they just open the package. They reserve the right to do so for Media Mail.
