I had 2 orders (separate listings) days apart from 2 different buyers. Lets call them Buyer "A" and Buyer "B". Both orders were shipped (separate packages) using labels purchased on eBay . Buyer A received not only their item , but also received Buyer B's item. I compared the invoices for both orders. Both orders were purchased from two different accounts, but both invoices display Buyer A's name, address, and phone number. Buyer A states he does not have a 2nd account. I've tried contacting Buyer B, but they have not responded.
I assume this is some sort of invoice glitch. I need help on how to handle this. I've tried to speak with an eBay rep via contact us, but the automated chat bot keeps going in circles no matter what option I choose.

So buyer A contacted you to say he received an extra package he didn't order?
If you want it back - purchase a shipping label from an online shipping vendor and message it to them.
If buyer B complains about not receiving their item then give them a refund.

That is something I'm considering, but then I'm out the cost of the shipping labels for a problem that was not my fault.

In 20 years I've never heard of an order having the wrong address due to an ebay error.
Maybe the buyer made two orders and is just confused. I would not have contacted the other buyer myself. You could win an item not received case if you have a tracking number showing it's delivered to the address on the order.
I just suggested refunding based on the assumption you'd get the other item back.

Sounds like a scam. If they contacted you first about the issue.
If you are sending messages first, you shouldn't do that. Just fulfill the orders.
I highly doubt there was a glitch that causes the ship to address to be wrong.
Check the individual orders. If the Ship To is the same then do nothing you did nothing wrong.

When you say "invoices," I think you mean "packing slips," right? Did you actually send invoices before they paid, or are you referring to the packing slips and shipping labels that you purchased after they paid?
If you go back into the Order Details page for each shipment (or view the confirmation email you get after purchasing the eBay label, the one with a Subject line of "Your shipping label is ready"), does the shipping info for Buyer B actually show the data for Buyer A?
P.S. Were these guest buyers? Zero feedback and a semi-random collection of letters for a user ID?

When I say invoice I'm referring to the order details page when you click on the order #. Regardless of where I look it all shows the same customer info.
Both buyers have normal user ID. Buyer A account is 8 years old with a dozen feedback reviews in the past 12 months. Buyer B account is a few months old with 1 feedback review

I would have not contacted either buyer! You ship to the address that eBay gives you. I assume you have tracking on these sales. Just let it ride for now.
Sounds like you did not do your homework before shipping your orders.
As sellers, we have to stay vigilant.
Check your buyer's profile. Location and all feedback history. Especially what they leave for their sellers.
Google map / satellite view the address.

Whatever protection Ebay will provide you will apply if you shipped the order to the address Ebay has provided on the order and have tracking showing it was delivered. Ebay has the same information on the order as you see.
If there has been no item not received case opened there is nothing you shoulddo.
If one is opened you will have exactly the same level of protection if the address you shipped to is incorrect due to someone else's error.
